Lutxana
Lutxana is a station of line 1 of Metro Bilbao, also served by the Lutxana-Sondika shuttle operated by Euskotren Trena. It is located in the neighbourhood of Lutxana-Enekuri, in the municipality of Erandio. In its current inception, the station was opened on 11 November 1995. Since 2015, the station has also been served by Euskotren Trena suburban trains. The Cercanías Bilbao commuter railway network (operated by Renfe) also has a Lutxana station on its C2/C3 line, but they are not at the same location or even in the same municipality – there is a relatively short distance of about between them as the crow flies, but they are situated on opposite banks of the Estuary of Bilbao (the 'other' Lutxana is part of Barakaldo). Lutxana–Sondika Line
The Lutxana–Sondika line ( eu, Lutxana-Sondika trenbidea, es, Ferrocarril Lutxana-Sondika) is a single-track branchline in Biscay, Basque Country, Spain. Owned by Euskal Trenbide Sarea, it runs from Lutxana to , connecting line 1 of the Bilbao metro with the Txorierri line. It is a remnant of the former Lutxana–Mungia line, which was partially closed in May 1975. History Early years On 10 March 1891, the government granted Manuel Lecanda the concession for building a railway between Lutxana (a neighborhood of Erandio) and Mungia. The Lutxana terminus served as an interchange with the Bilbao–Plentzia railway (nowadays part of line 1 of the metro). Works started on 14 May that year. Euskotren Trena
Euskotren Trena, formerly known just as ''Euskotren'' is a commuter, inter-city and urban transit train-operating company that operates local and inter-city passenger services in the provinces of Biscay and Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country, Spain. It is one of the four commercial brands under which Euskotren operates, as a public company managed by the Basque government. The entire network uses narrow gauge rail tracks which have been owned by the Basque Government since their transferral from the Spanish government; the rail tracks and stations were part of the FEVE network until its transferral. Line 1 of the Bilbao metro is a rapid transit line in Biscay, Basque Country, Spain. It runs from Etxebarri to Plentzia. Its route covers the municipality of Etxebarri, the city of Bilbao, the right bank of the Nervión river and Uribe Kosta. The line has 29 stations. History On November 11 1995, Lehendakari José Antonio Ardanza opened the first 23 stations of the metro system between Casco Viejo and Plentzia. The next year, on June 24 1996, Gobela opened as an infill station between Areeta and Neguri, in the municipality of Getxo. Erandio
Erandio is a town and municipality located in the province of Biscay, in the autonomous community of Basque Country, northern Spain. The name comes from euskera ARANDIO that means plum plantation or field. In 1415, during the War of the Bands, the ''corregidor'', the royally-appointed governor of the Biscayan ''hermandad'', acting on royal orders, siphoned off Biscayan wheat to the Asturias, inciting a rebellion. Etxebarri (Bilbao Metro)
Etxebarri is a station on lines 1 and 2 of the Bilbao metro. It is the southern terminus of line 1. The station is located in the municipality of Etxebarri, part of the Bilbao metropolitan area. It was opened in 2005. The station is on Fuenlabrada street, next to a park and ride parking facility. The Euskotren Trena commuter railway network has a station with the same name at a distance of about , but the two stations are not connected. Ibarbengoa is a station on line 1 of the Bilbao metro. It is located in the neighbourhood of Andra Mari, in the municipality of Getxo. The station was constructed to serve the northernmost part of Getxo and to become the northern terminus of services terminating in Getxo.
