Lush 99.5FM
Lush 99.5FM was a radio station which plays a distinct brand of music, consisting of Indie, Independent and Electronic music. It started transmission on 31 December 2004 at 7.25am before airing subsequently from 7am to 2am daily. It was extended to broadcast throughout the entire day from 20 January 2005. Lush 99.5FM was the first English radio station in Singapore to be located in a shopping mall (Orchard Central #02-02), and was also the first Mediacorp radio station to move out of Caldecott Hill on 20 August 2009. Lush 99.5FM's last day of tenancy at Orchard Central was 7 July 2012; the station has since moved back to Caldecott Hill. Lush 99.5FM moved again to the brand new Mediacorp Campus, Mediapolis @ one-north, on 17 January 2017. Every week, various guest DJs would be invited on The Lush Mix, which airs on Saturdays from 8pm and repeats on weekdays from 9pm. List Of Radio Stations In Singapore
The following radio stations are located in and transmitted from Singapore. FM stations There are 3 radio broadcasters and 19 radio stations in Singapore in total; 12 are owned by Mediacorp, 2 are owned by So Drama! Entertainment, and 5 are owned by SPH Media Trust. In Singapore, listeners are able to tune into BBC World Service, easily available 24/7 through long-term agreement with Mediacorp Radio via their transmitter in Bukit Batok, therefore, BBC World Service is also regarded as one of Mediacorp's radio channels since it is aired under its broadcast network. Residents are also able to receive FM broadcasts from Malaysia (based in Johor Bharu) and Indonesia (based in Batam City/Tanjungpinang) if the signal is strong enough. Vanessa Fernandez
Vanessa Mary Fernandez (born 17 October 1982) is a singer and radio presenter from Singapore. She released several albums with the now defunct hip hop groups, Urban Xchange and Parking Lot Pimp and is now more popularly known by her moniker, Vandetta, (sometimes Miss Vandetta) on Mediacorp Radio’s 987fm. Music career Fernandez started singing in the church choir at the age of 12 and at 16, while studying at CHIJ St. Joseph’s Convent, scored a leading role in her secondary school musical directed by Wendy Ng, then the Artistic Director of the Singapore Repertory Theatre Young Company. Caldecott Hill
Caldecott Hill is a private housing estate, located along Thomson Road in the Central Region of Singapore. It is tied to the growth of the media industry in Singapore. In the past, Singapore's broadcast station, Mediacorp was located there. The Caldecott Broadcast Centre opened in 1954. In 2017, Mediacorp moved to its new campus on Stars Avenue, one-north. After Mediacorp moved, the old campus at Andrew Road was left abandoned until October 2020 where they appointed real estate consultants to market the area to hold 67 bungalow plots. In December 2020, the land was sold for $280.9million to a private estate company. It was also referred to as "The Hill" by the local media and Mediacorp employees.
