Puning (; postal: Puning) is a county-level city in the municipal region of Jieyang, in the southeast of Guangdong Province, China. Jieyang () is a prefecture-level city in eastern Guangdong Province (Yuedong), People's Republic of China, part of the Chaoshan region whose people speak Chaoshan Min distinct from neighbouring Yue speakers. The National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China (NPC; ), or simply the National People's Congress, is constitutionally the supreme state authority and the national legislature of the People's Republic of China. With 2,980 members in 2018, it is the largest legislative body in the world. Li Jianzhen (1907 – March 30, 1992) was a female People's Republic of China politician. She was born in Fengshun County, Guangdong. A follower of Peng Pai, she participated in the Guangzhou Uprising of 1927. As a member of the Chinese Red Army, she was active in Changting County, Fujian, which was part of the Jiangxi–Fujian Soviet. At the end of the Long March, she arrived in Shaanbei and was in the border region of Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia during the Second Sino-Japanese War. She later returned to her home province. She was a delegate to seven consecutive National People's Congresses, from the 1st (1954–1959) to the 7th (1988–1993). Lin Ruo (; July 19, 1924 – October 7, 2012) was a Chinese politician who served as Party Committee Secretary of Guangdong Province. Biography Lin was a native of Chao'an District, Chaozhou City, Guangdong. He joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in May 1945. In July 1945, he enrolled in the Sun Yat-sen University School of Literature. In 1947, he traveled to the Dong River guerilla warfare region to provide political guidance. In March 1950, he was named the head of the CCP Guangdong Pearl River Local Committee Policy Research Office Group, as well as local positions in Zhongshan and Dongguan. In 1952, he was named party committee secretary of Dongguan. Lin was attacked during the Cultural Revolution. In February 1971, he was named to the Zhenjiang local party committee, and in 1973 became the deputy party secretary and deputy Revolutionary Committee director of the Nanfang Daily newspaper.
