Luno The White Stallion
''Luno the White Stallion'' was a Terrytoons television series that aired in the mid-1960s. It centered on a little boy named Tim who had a toy horse Pegasus of marble white named Luno who would come alive and whisk him off on adventures in far off lands when Tim said the words, "Oh winged horse of marble white, take me on a magic flight". The series was produced by William Weiss, and directed by Connie Rasinski and Arthur Bartsch. Terrytoons
Terrytoons was an American animation studio in New Rochelle, New York, that produced animated cartoons for theatrical release from 1929 to 1973 (and briefly returned between 1987 and 1996 for television in name only). Terrytoons was founded by Paul Terry, Frank Moser, and Joseph Coffman, and operated out of the "K" Building in downtown New Rochelle. The studio created many cartoon characters including Fanny Zilch, Mighty Mouse, Heckle and Jeckle, Gandy Goose, Sourpuss, Dinky Duck, Little Roquefort, the Terry Bears, Dimwit, and Luno; Terry's pre-existing character Farmer Al Falfa was also featured often in the series. Pegasus
Pegasus ( grc-gre, Πήγασος, Pḗgasos; la, Pegasus, Pegasos) is one of the best known creatures in Greek mythology. He is a winged divine stallion usually depicted as pure white in color. He was sired by Poseidon, in his role as horse-god, and foaled by the Gorgon Medusa. He was the brother of Chrysaor, born at a single birthing when his mother was decapitated by Perseus. Connie Rasinski
J. Conrad "Connie" Rasinski (January 28, 1907 in Torrington, Connecticut – October 13, 1965 in Larchmont, New York) was an animation director who did the 1952 animated short "Hansel and Gretel" among others. Rasinski's "House of Hashimoto" was in competition at the 1961 Cannes Film Festival. Biography Connie Rasinski was born Constantine Rasinski on January 28, 1907 in Torrington, Connecticut. As a young man Rasinski studied with Norman Rockwell at the Art Students League of New York. After a variety of jobs, Rasinski decided to become an animator. Robert McFadden (January 19, 1923 – January 7, 2000) was an American singer, impressionist, and voice-over actor perhaps best known for his many contributions to animated cartoons. His most popular television cartoon characters included Milton the Monster from the ABC series ''The Milton The Monster Show''; Cool McCool from the NBC series ''Cool McCool''; and Snarf from the syndicated series '' ThunderCats''. Norma MacMillan (September 15, 1921 – March 16, 2001) was a Canadian actress, best known for voicing numerous characters in animation and claymation, including Casper the Friendly Ghost on ''The New Casper Cartoon Show'', Gumby on ''The Gumby Show'', Sweet Polly Purebred on ''Underdog'', and Davey on ''Davey and Goliath''. Dayton Allen (born Dayton Allen Bolke; September 24, 1919 – November 11, 2004) was an American comedian and voice actor. He was one of the "men in the street" on ''The Steve Allen Show''. His catchphrase was "Why not, Bubbe?" (pronounced "whooooyyy not!") Early life Allen was born in New York City, the son of Helen and Sol Bolke, a dress manufacturer. The Astronut Show
''The Astronut Show'' is an animated TV series, produced by the Terrytoons animation studio. It first aired on August 23, 1965. Each episode included an episode of ''Astronut'', ''Hashimoto-san'', and ''Luno The White Stallion''. Astronut first appeared on the ''Deputy Dawg'' series. He is a squat, childlike, short, friendly green alien in a tiny flying saucer who frequently gets into mischief on Earth. He has a human friend called Oscar Mild, who was, as his name suggested, a soft-spoken character. Oscar works in an office for Mr. Nicely, whose temperament is the exact opposite of his name. The series was directed by Art Bartsch, Bob Kuwahara, Connie Rasinski, and David Tendlar. The writers were Larz Bourne, Glan Heish, Tom Morrison, and Bob Ogle. Don Markstein's Toonopedia (subtitled A Vast Repository of Toonological Knowledge) is an online encyclopedia of print cartoons, comic strips and animation, initiated February 13, 2001. Donald D. Markstein, the sole writer and editor of Toonopedia, termed it "the world's first hypertext encyclopedia of toons" and stated, "The basic idea is to cover the entire spectrum of American cartoonery." Markstein began the project during 1999 with several earlier titles: he changed Don's Cartoon Encyberpedia (1999) to Don Markstein's Cartoonopedia (2000) after learning the word "Encyberpedia" had been trademarked. During 2001, he settled on his final title, noting, "Decided (after thinking about it for several weeks) to change the name of the site to Don Markstein's Toonopedia, rather than Cartoonopedia.
