Luniz (formerly the LuniTunes) is an American hip hop duo from Oakland, California, formed by Yukmouth and Numskull. They were signed to Virgin Records, Noo Trybe Records, and C-Note Records. They were the flagship act for C-Note Records. The group is best known for the internationally successful hit in 1995 titled " I Got 5 on It". Operation Stackola
''Operation Stackola'' is the debut album by hip hop duo Luniz, which was released on July 4, 1995. The album was eventually certified Platinum by the RIAA for sales of over one million records on June 20, 2000.RIAA Database
It features the group's most famous song to date, " I Got 5 on It." The album is The Luniz's best selling album, and it topped the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart for over 2 weeks and making the Top 20 on the ''Billboard'' 200.

Jerold Dwight Ellis III (born October 18, 1974), better known by his stage name Yukmouth, is an American rapper from East Oakland, Oakland, California. He is the founder of The Regime, Smoke-A-Lot Records and Godzilla Entertainment. He is a member of Thug Lordz with C-Bo. Career Yukmouth is a member of the rap duo Luniz, along with Numskull. Luniz recorded the weed anthem, " I Got 5 on It". Yukmouth signed a solo record deal at J-Prince's Rap-a-Lot Records, releasing four albums. Noo Trybe Records
Noo Trybe Records was an American hip hop record label established in 1994 by Eric L. Brooks and operated as a sublabel of Virgin Records. It worked with several independent hip hop labels including Rap-A-Lot Records and AWOL. History A portion of Noo Trybe's roster came from several artists who were absorbed from EMI when it was disbanded, which included Gang Starr and AZ. Other Virgin acts such as Shyheim, who signed with the label in 1993, were transferred to the new label. One of the label's biggest successes was the group Luniz. On July 4, 1995, Noo Trybe released Luniz's debut studio album, ''Operation Stackola''.
