Lumwana Radiants is a football team from lumwana, kalumbila, Zambia, currently playing in the Zambian Premier League. Lumwana '' is a mining town located in Mwinilunga District, within the North-Western Province of Zambia. Geography The town is located on the T5 Highway, approximately , by road, west of Solwezi and east of Mwinilunga. Lumwana is approximately by road northwest of Lusaka, the capital and largest city of Zambia. It is in the Copperbelt mineral deposits and mining region of Southern Africa. Population The population of Lumwana was estimated at less than 1,000 in 1999. The Zambia Super League, known as the MTN Super League for sponsorship purposes, is the top association football league created in 1962 by the Football Association of Zambia. The winners of the league each season receives ZMW500,000 ($26,414.20) and a copper trophy engraved with their team name. Format The league is contested by 18 teams every season. Nchanga Open Pit Mine The Open Pits at Nchanga Mine are situated in a crescent shaped structure 11 km long around the municipal town of Chingola in Zambia. Covering nearly 30 km² it is the second largest open cast mine in the world. The deepest part of the pit is 400 m lower than the surrounding plateau.
