Light
Light or visible light is electromagnetic radiation that can be perceived by the human eye. Thierry Frémaux (; born 29 May 1960) is the director of the Institut Lumière, of the Lumière Film Festival and of the Cannes Film Festival. Lumiere (skyscraper)
Lumiere was a mixed-use skyscraper development in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, intended to be completed in 2010. The project was put on hold in 2008 and officially cancelled in 2010. Design and planning The project represented the second phase of the redevelopment of a Royal Mail sorting office, which had already seen a tall former Royal Mail office reclad to become apartments called West Point. It was planned than Lumiere would consist of two towers of heights 54 storeys / and 32 storeys / , both clad in glass, with the taller tower predominantly blue and the smaller tower of a reddish hue. The developers behind the project were KW Linfoot and Scarborough Development Group, and the designers were SimpsonHaugh and Partners and, for the structural design, WSP Group. Pierre Cardin
Pierre Cardin (, , ), born Pietro Costante Cardino (2 July 1922 – 29 December 2020), was an Italian-born naturalised-French fashion designer. He is known for what were his avant-garde style and Space Age designs. He preferred geometric shapes and motifs, often ignoring the female form. He advanced into unisex fashions, sometimes experimental, and not always practical. He founded his fashion house in 1950 and introduced the " bubble dress" in 1954. Lumiere Festival
Lumiere is the UK's largest light festival. The festival, produced by London-based creative company Artichoke, debuted in Durham in 2009. The festival was part inspired by the Fête des lumières in Lyon. Hosted in winter time, and free to attend, the festival typically comprises a number of light art-installations, as well as illuminating iconic buildings and locations. The festival takes place biennially in November in Durham, and since 2013 has occasionally toured to other locations, both reusing popular illuminations from Durham and creating new bespoke installations. Lumiere (foaled 10 March 2013) is a British Thoroughbred racehorse. She was one of the best British two-year-old fillies of 2015 when she ran second in the Lowther Stakes before winning the Cheveley Park Stakes. Her only win in the following year came in the Sir Henry Cecil Stakes but she was placed in both the Sceptre Stakes and the Challenge Stakes. The Lumières (literally in English: ''The Lights'') was a cultural, philosophical, literary and intellectual movement beginning in the second half of the 17th century, originating in western Europe and spreading throughout the rest of Europe. It included philosophers such as Baruch Spinoza, David Hume, John Locke, Edward Gibbon, Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Denis Diderot, Pierre Bayle and Isaac Newton.
