The Syretsky radius was planned in the early 1980s when construction of the whole line began. Open opening of the line in 1989, the tunnel boring to the northwest continued, but in line of economic problems during the early 1990s, construction pace was very slow-paced. Also, the original first stage of the radius was supposed to open with two stations, this and Lvivska Brama. Shevchenkivskyi District, Kyiv
The Shevchenkivskyi District (, uk, Шевченківський район, lit=Shevchenkivskyi district, translit=Shevchenkivsʹkyi raion) is an urban district of the city of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It was originally established on 4 April 1937, although in 2001 its area was increased following an annexation of the former Radianskyi and StaroKyivskyi districts. It was the first rapid transit system in Ukraine and the third in the Soviet Union, after the Moscow and St. Petersburg metros. Lvivska Brama ( uk, Львiвська Брама) is a station on the Syretsko-Pecherska Line of the Kyiv Metro between the Lukianivska and Zoloti Vorota stations that was partially built but never opened. History Originally, upon the construction of the Syretsky radius, which began in 1990, the first stage was to consist of five stations that would open in two phases: Zoloti Vorota – Lukianivska with Lvivska Brama as interim, and then Lukianivska – Syrets with two stations as an interim, and the whole project would be opened in the late 1990s. However, the financial setbacks that the breakup of the Soviet Union brought onto the Ukrainian economy slowed the construction of the Metro, and frequent breaks due to the lack of finances affected the quality.
