Luke Yaklich
Luke Yaklich (born May 8, 1976) is an American college basketball coach and current men's basketball coach for the UIC Flames. Early life and education Yaklich is a native of LaSalle, Illinois. He graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School in 1994 after competing on the basketball team. Yaklich earned a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University in 1998. He served as a student manager for the basketball team. He received his Master of Education from Olivet Nazarene University in 2004 and Master of Education Administration from Olivet Nazarene in 2009. Coaching career Yaklich began his coaching career at his high school alma mater in 1999, serving for a season as the head girls coach. In 2000, he became the boys' basketball coach at Sterling High School, serving until 2003. Yaklich subsequently became the boys basketball coach at LaSalle-Peru. UIC Flames Men's Basketball
The UIC Flames men's basketball team represents the University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The team competes in the Missouri Valley Conference. From 1994 to 2022, the team competed in the Horizon League. The Flames are currently coached by Luke Yaklich. Dan Muller (basketball)
Daniel Paul Muller (born February 21, 1976) is an American college basketball coach, formerly the men's basketball head coach at his alma mater Illinois State University. Biography Muller was born in Lafayette, Indiana to parents Cliff and Tricia. He attended Lafayette Central Catholic Jr/Sr High School, Lafayette Central Catholic High School, graduating in 1994. After high school, Muller attended Illinois State University. On the Illinois State Redbirds men's basketball team, Muller played as a Forward (basketball), forward from 1994 to 1998 under head coach Kevin Stallings. 2022–23 UIC Flames Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 UIC Flames men's basketball team represented the University of Illinois at Chicago in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Flames, led by third-year head coach Luke Yaklich, played their home games at Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, Illinois as first-year members of the Missouri Valley Conference. They finished the season 12–19, 4–16 in MVC play to finish in eleventh place. They lost to Missouri State in the opening round of the MVC tournament. Previous season The Flames finished the 2021–22 season 14–16, 9–10 in Horizon League play to finish in eighth place. The 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 7, 2022. The regular season will end on March 12, 2023, with the 2023 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament beginning on March 14 and ending with the championship game at NRG Stadium in Houston on April 3. Rule changes The following rule changes were recommended by the NCAA Basketball Rules Committee to the Playing Rules Oversight Panel for the 2022−23 season: * Flopping will now result in a Class B technical foul.
