Luke Marcus O'Neill (born 20 August 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a right back for club Ebbsfleet United. He graduated from the Leicester City youth academy. He has represented England at under-17 level. Career Leicester City Born in Slough, Berkshire, O'Neill came through the youth academy at Leicester City and was part of the side that won the Premier Academy League in the 2006–07 season. He was named as a substitute for the first time in a League Cup win over Stockport County on 12 August 2008, however he was unused on that occasion. On 29 August 2008, just a few days after his 17th birthday, O'Neill signed a three-year professional contract, tying him to Leicester until the summer of 2011. He then made his first-team debut for Leicester on 2 September 2008 against Hartlepool United in a 3–0 Football League Trophy win. Luke O'Neill (scientist)
Luke Anthony John O'Neill (born 17 June 1964) is an Irish biochemist. He has been a professor of biochemistry in the School of Biochemistry and Immunology at Trinity College Dublin since 2009. Early life and education O'Neill was born on 17 June 1964 in Dublin, Ireland, to Kevin O'Neill and Carmel O'Neill (). He was educated at St Peter's School and Presentation College in Bray, County Wicklow, and went to Trinity College Dublin, where he was awarded an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences (Biochemistry) in 1985. He completed his postgraduate study at the University of London, where he was awarded a PhD in pharmacology, for research investigating the characterisation of prostaglandin E2 release induced by interleukin-1 in human synovial cells, in 1988. Following his PhD, he worked at the postdoctoral researcher at the Strangeways Research Laboratory in Cambridge funded by the Medical Research Council.
