Lukas Van Ness
Lukas Van Ness (born July 6, 2001) is an American football defensive end for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Iowa and was selected by the Packers in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. Early years Van Ness was born on July 6, 2001, in Barrington, Illinois. He later attended Barrington High School, where he played football and ice hockey. He was rated a three-star recruit and committed to play college football at Iowa over offers from Illinois, Minnesota, and Kansas. College career Van Ness redshirted his true freshman season at Iowa. Playing both defensive end and defensive tackle, he became a starter as a redshirt freshman and had 33 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and seven sacks. Justin Skyler Fields (born March 5, 1999) is an American football quarterback for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). Following a stint with Georgia, he played college football at Ohio State, where he twice won Graham–George Offensive Player of the Year and reached the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach.
