Luis Miguel Noriega
Luis Miguel Noriega Orozco (born 17 April 1985) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career His professional debut came during the Apertura 2007 season, on August 5, 2007 – in a game against Club América. He scored his first professional goal in a match against Club Necaxa. He was Puebla team captain until getting transferred after the Bicentenario 2010. Noriega was transferred to Monarcas Morelia on May 18, 2010. After 1 year of being with the club, he was then loaned out to Chiapas. International career Noriega earned his first international cap with Mexico on June 24, 2009, against Venezuela, he also was called up to play in the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup by Mexican coach Javier Aguirre. Tepotzotlán
Tepotzotlán () is a city and a municipality in the Mexican state of Mexico. It is located northeast of Mexico City about a 45-minute drive along the Mexico City- Querétaro at marker number 41. In Aztec times, the area was the center of a dominion that negotiated to keep most of its independence in return with being allied with the Aztec Triple Alliance. Later, it would also be part of a "Republic of the Indians," allowing for some autonomy under Spanish rule as well. The town became a major educational center during the colonial period when the Jesuits established the College of San Francisco Javier. The college complex that grew from its beginnings in 1580 would remain an educational center until 1914. Today this complex houses the Museo del Virreinato (Museum of the Vice Regal or Colonial Period), with one of the largest collections of art and other objects from this time period. Javier Aguirre
Javier Aguirre Onaindía (; born 1 December 1958), nicknamed ''El Vasco'' (The Basque), is a Mexican former professional footballer and manager who is currently in charge of Spanish team RCD Mallorca. Aguirre played for Mexico at the 1986 World Cup, and was twice manager of the team, taking them to the World Cup in 2002 and 2010. He also won the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup and led them to the final of the 2001 Copa América. Later, he managed Japan and Egypt. At club level, Aguirre led six clubs in Spain's La Liga. He finished fourth with Osasuna in 2006 and Atlético Madrid in 2008, and also took the former to the 2005 Copa del Rey Final. He also won the CONCACAF Champions League with Monterrey in 2021. The 2017 Supercopa MX was a Mexican football match-up played on 16 July 2017 between the champions of the Apertura 2016 Copa MX, Querétaro, and América. Like the previous two editions, the 2017 Supercopa MX was contested in a single-leg format at a neutral venue in the United States. This match took place at the StubHub Center in Carson, California for the second straight year. The match is normally contested by the winners of the Apertura and Clausura editions of the Copa MX. However Guadalajara, winners of the Clausura 2017, also won the Clausura 2017 Liga MX, and thus qualified for the 2017 Campeón de Campeones. Since Guadalajara were also the Supercopa MX title holders, they were replaced by América, who were the team that accumulated the most aggregate points in the previous two editions of Copa MX that was not already playing in either the Campeón de Campeones or Supercopa MX. The Apertura 2016 Copa MX Final was the final of the Apertura 2016 Copa MX, the ninth edition of the Copa MX under its current format and 76th overall organized by the Mexican Football Federation, the governing body of association football in Mexico. The 2010 SuperLiga was the fourth edition of the SuperLiga. The top four overall Major League Soccer teams from the 2009 season not already qualified for the 2010–11 CONCACAF Champions League earned qualification as well as four clubs from the Primera División de México. Qualification The teams involved were selected based on qualification rules set by their respective leagues. On April 28, 2010, MLS announced that for the 2010 season the top four teams from the 2009 MLS regular season standings not competing in the 2010–11 CONCACAF Champions League would qualify for SuperLiga 2010. The SuperLiga was an official North American association football competition between teams from the Liga MX of Mexico and Major League Soccer of the United States and Canada, the top divisions in each country. The competition was sanctioned by CONCACAF, U.S. Soccer, the Canadian Soccer Association and Federación Mexicana de Fútbol and served as the sub-regional championship for the North American section of CONCACAF, much like its Central American and Caribbean counterparts, the Copa Interclubes UNCAF and CFU Club Championship respectively. Copa MX
The Copa MX (formerly called Copa Tower Monterrey, Copa Eliminatoria, Copa México and Copa Corona MX (for sponsorship reasons)) was a Mexican football cup competition that was established in 1907. After a lengthy hiatus that began in 1997, it was restored in 2012. On early editions of the cup, it consisted of both professional and amateur stages. It was the first official tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious tournament, especially during its earlier years of existence. The original purpose of the competition was to determine a national champion, thus distinguishing it from the local league championship.
