Luis Mateo Díez
Luis Mateo Díez Rodríguez (born 21 September 1942) is a Spanish writer. He has written widely in a variety of genres, and has published over 50 books till date. He is best known for his works that focus on the fictional Kingdom of Celama (e.g. ''El espíritu del páramo'', ''La ruina del cielo'' and ''El oscurecer''). Two of his novels have won both the Premio de la Crítica and the Premio Nacional de Narrativa The National Literature Prize for Narrative (Spanish: ''Premio Nacional de Literatura en la modalidad de Narrativa'') is a prize awarded by Spain's Ministry of Culture for a novel written by a Spanish author in any of the languages of Spain. The Most Excellent (Spanish language, Spanish: ''Excelentísimo Señor'' (male) or ''Excelentísima Señora'' (female), literally "Most Excellent Sir/Madam") is an honorific prefix that is traditionally applied to certain people in Spain and certain Spanish-speaking countries. The Miguel de Cervantes Prize ( es, Premio de Literatura en Lengua Castellana Miguel de Cervantes) is awarded annually to honour the lifetime achievement of an outstanding writer in the Spanish language.
