Luis García (footballer, Born 1969)
Luis García Postigo (born 1 June 1969) is a Mexican former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. Today he is a football commentator for TV Azteca (called "Doctor Garcia") and narrates alongside Argentine Mexicans, Argentine Mexican commentator Christian Martinoli. Club career García came out of the Club Universidad Nacional, Pumas' youth groups as a great prospect. He debuted when he was 17 years old in 1987 with the Pumas team. He also played with Atlético Madrid, and Real Sociedad of Spain's Liga de Fútbol Profesional. Returning from Europe he continued his career in Club América, Atlante F.C., Atlante, C.D. Guadalajara, Guadalajara, Monarcas Morelia, Morelia, and Club Puebla, Puebla. He scored a total of 156 goals in the Liga MX, Mexico Primera División, and led it in scoring three times. The 1991 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the first edition of the Gold Cup, the soccer championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), and the eleventh overall CONCACAF tournament. The 1996 Men's Olympic Football Tournament, played as part of the 1996 Summer Olympics, was hosted in Birmingham, Alabama, Washington, D.C., Orlando, Florida, Miami, Florida and Athens, Georgia. The 1998 FIFA World Cup was the 16th FIFA World Cup, the football world championship for men's national teams. The finals tournament was held in France from 10 June to 12 July 1998. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap.
