Luis Fernando Tena
Luis Fernando Tena Garduño (born 20 January 1958) is a Mexican professional football manager and former player who is the head coach of the Guatemala national team. Coaching career After retiring as a player, Tena began his coaching career in 1994 with Cruz Azul, a squad which he has guided on three occasions. Aside from stints at Cruz Azul and Morelia, Tena has coached Santos Laguna, Chiapas and Tecos UAG. His brother, Alfredo Tena, a former Club América player and manager, served as an assistant coach for Luis. On 16 March 2008 Tena was named the new coach of Monarcas Morelia, he was fired on 20 February 2009 and was later named as the head coach to Chiapas on 6 May 2009. After a slow start to Primera División de México Bicentenario 2010 tournament, Tena was later let go from his head coach position from Chiapas in early January, 2010. The men's association football tournament at the 2011 Pan American Games was held in Guadalajara, Mexico at the Omnilife Stadium from October 19 to 28, 2011. Associations affiliated with FIFA were invited to send their men's U-22 national teams, with 3 no-age-limit players per team allowed. Ecuador were the defending champions from the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, defeating Jamaica 2–1, but they were eliminated during the group stage. For these Games, the men competed in an eight-team tournament, which is a drop from 12 at the 2007 games. Preliminary matches commenced on October 19. The teams were grouped into two pools of four teams each for a round-robin preliminary round. The top two teams in each pool advanced to a four-team single-elimination bracket. Football At The Pan American Games
Football (soccer) at the Pan American Games has been included in every Pan American Games as a men's competition sport, since the first edition of the multi-sports event in 1951. The competition is organized by the Pan American Sports Organization. So as to avoid competition with the World Cup, FIFA have restricted participation of elite players in the men's tournament in various ways. Currently squads for the men's tournament are required to be composed of players under 22 years of age. The tournament was played in league format from 1951 to 1963, neither final nor bronze medal match hosted. The 1997 CONCACAF Champions' Cup was the 33rd. edition of the annual international club football competition held in the CONCACAF region (North America, Central America and the Caribbean), the CONCACAF Champions' Cup.
