Luis Del Valle
Luis Orlando Del Valle Valentín (born January 27, 1987) is a Puerto Rican professional boxer. Biography Luis Orlando, is related to former WBO bantamweight champion Rafael del Valle. He began boxing at the age of 14 at the Caná Boxing Club in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, losing his first amateur fight despite a spirited effort on his part. Instead of being disheartened by the setback, it served to motivate Luis to come back and just get better. In just one year he became Puerto Rico's National Junior Olympics champion, bringing medals to the island during his two-year reign. The trend continued as he represented the island at the 2004 under 19 World Championships in Korea. Being too young to try out for the 2004 Olympic team, his trainer sent him to New York where he won both the New York and National Golden Gloves tournaments representing Newburgh Boxing Club. Lou Del Valle
Louis Del Valle (born July 13, 1968, in Long Island City, New York) is an American boxer and the former WBA light heavyweight title holder. He is currently the boxing trainer of former super middleweight champion, Badou Jack. Professional career Known as "Honey Boy", Del Valle turned pro in 1992 and won his first 22 bouts, setting up a shot at long-time WBA light heavyweight champion Virgil Hill in 1996. Hill won a close unanimous decision. In 1997 he took on Eddy Smulders for the vacant WBA light heavyweight title and won via 8th-round TKO. He lost the belt in his next fight, a clear decision loss to Roy Jones Jr. in a WBC/WBA unification bout, but became the first fighter ever to knock Jones down. Diego de la Hoya Villegas (born August 13, 1994) is a Mexican professional boxer who held the WBC- NABF and WBO- NABO super bantamweight titles between 2017 and 2019. As an amateur he represented Mexico, winning the 2011 Mexican National Championships and competing at the 2012 Youth World Championships. He is the cousin of former boxer Oscar De La Hoya.
