Luis Argueta
Luis Argueta (born November 7, 1946) is a Guatemalan film director and producer. In 1988 he founded Morningside Movies, primarily producing TV commercials, including many for the Spanish speaking demographic. His 1994 film, '' El Silencio de Neto'' (''The Silence of Neto'') was submitted to the foreign films category in the 67th Academy Awards, the first submission from Guatemala. It is a "coming of age" story that takes place amid a military coup in Guatemala in 1954. In 2002, Argueta produced and directed "Collect Call", a film about a poor Guatemalan immigrant caught in a spinning NYC film production world. In 2005, Argueta participated in a documentary film, "Los orígenes del silencio", about the 20 years leading up to the production of "The Silence of Neto". In 2008, Argueta appeared as Paco the cobbler in "Looking for Palladin", a film about a Hollywood producer finding spiritual grounding during a visit to Guatemala. The ''Somerville Journal'' was a weekly newspaper published in Somerville, Massachusetts from 1870 until 2022. Early history The first issue of the ''Somerville Journal'' was published December 8, 1870, by W. A. Greenough & Company, known for publishing directories. During the next few years the paper changed ownership several times, early owners including Russell H. Conwell, then a Somerville resident, and John A. Cummings, later mayor of the city. On October 20, 1876, the paper came under the control of the Somerville Journal Company, under the presidency of J. O. Hayden. 67th Academy Awards
The 67th Academy Awards ceremony, organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) took place on March 27, 1995, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles beginning at 6:00 p.m. PST / 9:00 p.m. EST. The ''Daily News'' is a daily-except-Saturday newspaper based in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It is published Sunday mornings and Monday through Friday evenings. History The current newspaper can trace its roots to the ''Bowling Green Democrat'' founded in 1854. A rival paper, ''The Daily Times'', was founded by John B. Gaines in 1882 and the newspapers eventually merged into the predecessor to the ''Park City Daily News''; now named the Daily News.
