Luigi Maria Ugolini
Luigi Maria Ugolini (1895–1936) was an Italian archaeologist. Biography Ugolini was born in the small town of Bertinoro in the Italian Romagna, the son of a poor watchmaker. He shone at school and after service in the First World War in the Alpini studied archaeology at Bologna University. He was soon talent spotted by major figures in the Italian archaeological establishment of the early years of the fascist government and in 1924 was offered the chance to lead a mission to Albania. This work led him to excavate at Phoenicê and nearby Butrint in southern Albania, where his excavations uncovered the theater with a fine group of statues, the late-antique baptistery and many other monuments. In 1931 he was also offered the opportunity to work on the island of Malta where he led a project for a number of years until his death. Bertinoro, Romagna
Bertinoro () is a town and '' comune'' in the province of Forlì-Cesena, Emilia-Romagna (Italy). It is located on hill Mount Cesubeo, in Romagna, a few kilometers from the Via Emilia. History There are remains of a settlement dating from the Iron Age, next to the '' frazione'' of Casticciano. As for Bertinoro itself, it was probably a strongpoint on the Roman road connecting Forlì to Rimini. Later, during the barbaric invasions, it was moved to the current location. In 1177 the castle, already well developed and known as ''Castrum Cesubeum'', housed the emperor Frederick Barbarossa. is a fictional character featured in video games and related media released by Nintendo. Created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, Luigi is portrayed as the younger fraternal twin brother and sidekick of Mario, Nintendo's mascot. Luigi appears in many games throughout the ''Mario'' franchise, oftentimes accompanying his brother. Luigi first appeared in the 1983 Game & Watch game '' Mario Bros.'', where he is the character controlled by the second player. He would retain this role in many future games, including '' Mario Bros.'', '' Super Mario Bros.'', ''Super Mario Bros. 3'', '' Super Mario World'', among other titles.
