Luigi Bellotti
Luigi Bellotti (17 March 1914 – 23 September 1995) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who spent his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He was made an archbishop in 1964 and led diplomatic missions first in Africa and later in Uruguay and then in several Scandinavian countries. Biography Luigi Bellotti was born in Verona on 17 March 1914. He was ordained a priest on 11 July 1937. To prepare for a diplomatic career he entered the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1942. He then entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See. His study of the excommunication of Communists and fascists was published in 1949. His early assignments included a stint in the late 1950s as councilor in the Apostolic Internunciature to Turkey. On 18 July 1964 Pope Paul VI named him titular archbishop of Voncariana and Apostolic Delegate to Central Western Africa. Giuseppe Carraro
Giuseppe Carraro (26 June 1899 – 30 December 1980) was an Italian Roman Catholic prelate who served as the Bishop of Verona from 1958 until his retirement in 1978. He also served as the Bishop of Vittorio Veneto until his transferral to the see of Verona. Carraro has been implicated in the sexual abuse scandal perpetrated against deaf-mute students of the Provolo Institute. There have been a string of allegations against the late Carraro himself that prompted the cause for his beatification to be suspended around 2010 pending the results of the investigation. The cause resumed in 2012 after an investigation cleared Carraro of all charges despite discrepancies remaining over the late bishop's actions. He was considered a man of holiness and this allowed for his cause of beatification to be introduced in 2005 at which stage he was referred to as a Servant of God. Apostolic Nunciature To The Nordic Countries
The Holy See established what has evolved into its Apostolic Nunciature to the Nordic Countries on 16 March 1960 under the title Apostolic Delegation to Scandinavia with responsibility for representing the interests of the pope and the Catholic Church in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. It was originally located in Vedbæk, Denmark; since 2002 its office has been in Djursholm, Sweden, a suburb of Stockholm. The Holy See now has diplomatic relations with each of those countries and the Holy See appoints a nuncio, to date always the same person, to each of them. The representative of the Holy See holds an ecclesiastical office, but the title varies according to the office's relationship to governments. The original title "Delegate" is used for an envoy whose relationship to the government has not received diplomatic statues. Henri Lemaître
Henri Lemaître (1921 – 2003) was a Belgian prelate of the Catholic Church who spent his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Henri Lemaître was born on 17 October 1921 in Mortsel, Belgium. He studied at the seminary of Mechelen and was ordained a priest on 28 July 1946. He completed the course of studies at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1946 and then entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See. On 30 May 1969, Pope Paul VI named him Titular Archbishop of Tongeren and Apostolic Delegate to Cambodia and Vietnam. He received his episcopal consecration on 20 July from Cardinal Leo Joseph Suenens, Archbishop of Mechelen. In Vietnam in the early 1970s, he assessed U.S. prospects for a military victory as unlikely based on his Catholic information sources.
