Luha River
The Luha ( uk, Луга, pl, Ług) is a river in Ukraine and a right tributary of the Bug. Its source is located near village Kolpytiv located at the Horokhiv Upland and in its upper reaches the Luha runs mainly in western, northwestern direction, later in northward. In its lower stream it runs mainly in northwestern direction and enters Western Bug on northwestern outskirts of the city of Ustyluh. Biggest tributaries: Luha-Svynoryika, Svynoryika, Rylovytsia (right side); Strypa (left side) Character of the river is plain as it flows through swampy floodplains. Lokachi Raion
Lokachi Raion ( uk, Локачинський район) was a raion in Volyn Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center was the urban-type settlement of Lokachi. The raion was abolished and its territory was merged into Volodymyr-Volynskyi Raion on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Volyn Oblast to four. Horokhiv Upland
Horokhiv (, , yi, ארכעוו ''Arkhev'', ) is a town in Volyn Oblast, Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of Horokhiv Raion. Population: History The first written mention of it was in 1240 in the Hypatian Codex. From 1795 until the Russian Revolution of 1917, it was part of Volhynian Governorate of the Russian Empire; from 1921 to 1939 it was part of Wołyń Voivodeship of Poland. Ustyluh
Ustylúh (, , yi, אוסטילע ''Ustile'') is a town in Volodymyr Raion, Volyn Oblast, Ukraine. It is situated on the east side of the Ukrainian-Polish border, and 8 miles (13 km) west of Volodymyr. Population: Igor Stravinsky had an estate in Ustyluh and visited it frequently between 1890 and 1914. His mansion is now a museum. History Until the Russian Revolution of 1917, it was a settlement in Vladimir-Volynsky Uyezd of Volhynian Governorate of the Russian Empire; from 1921 to 1939 it was part of Wołyń Voivodeship of Poland. Town since 1940 Prior to World War II it had a population of at least 3,200 Jews. The Germans bombarded Ustyluh heavily on the morning of 22 June 1941, the day of the outbreak of war between the Soviet Union and Germany. The German Army conquered the town toward evening.
