Ludogorie Peak
Ludogorie Peak ( bg, връх Лудогорие, vrah Ludogorie, ) is a peak rising to 350 m in Friesland Ridge, Tangra Mountains in eastern Livingston Island, South Shetland Islands in Antarctica. The peak overlooks Prespa Glacier to the west and south, Macy Glacier to the northeast, and Brunow Bay to the east, and is named after Ludogorie region in northeastern Bulgaria. Location The peak is located at which is 960 m north-northwest of Needle Peak, 1.08 km south-southeast of Preslav Crag, 3.25 km southwest of Peshev Peak and 1.25 km northeast of Radomir Knoll (Bulgarian mapping in 2005 and 2009). Brunow Bay
Brunow Bay is a 2.33 km wide bay indenting for 1.5 km the southeast side of Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The bay is entered between Samuel Point and Vazov Point, and has its northwestern coast formed by the terminus of Macy Glacier. The feature is named by the UK-APC in 1958 for Benjamin J. Radomir Knoll (Radomirska Mogila \'ra-do-mir-ska mo-'gi-la\) rises to approximately 300 m in Prespa Glacier, eastern Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It is formed by the south extremity of an offshoot of Friesland Ridge, Tangra Mountains that extends to the south-southeast from St. Cyril Peak and surmounts Chavei Cove to the south and southwest. The feature is named after the Bulgarian town of Radomir (town), Radomir. Peshev Peak
Peshev Ridge (Peshev Rid \'pe-shev 'rid\) is a crescent-shaped ridge in central Tangra Mountains extending along the northeast coast of Brunow Bay and southeast of Macy Glacier, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. Its east extremity is formed by the summit St. Naum Peak (), separated from Balchik Ridge to the east by Starosel Gate. The ridge was named in honour of Dimitar Peshev (1894–1973), who led the nationwide campaign that kept Bulgaria’s Jews safe during the Holocaust. Preslav Crag
Preslav Crag ( bg, връх Преслав, vrah Preslav, ) is a sharp peak rising to approx. 600 m in Friesland Ridge, Tangra Mountains, eastern Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The peak has precipitous and ice-free south-western and north-eastern slopes and overlooks Prespa Glacier to the southwest and Macy Glacier to the northeast, the latter flowing between Preslav Crag and Peshev Ridge into Brunow Bay. The peak is named after the Bulgarian town of Preslav (Veliki Preslav), that in the ninth century was the capital of the First Bulgarian Kingdom. Needle Peak (Antarctica)
Needle Peak is a sharply pointed black peak, 370 m, standing at the west side of Brunow Bay on the south coast of Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands. It is situated in the southeast foothills of Friesland Ridge, Tangra Mountains on Rozhen Peninsula, 1 km south-southeast of Ludogorie Peak, and surmounts Prespa Glacier on the west, Brunow Bay on the northeast, Opitsvet Lake on the east and Samuel Point on the east by south. The feature was named ‘Barnards Peak’ on James Weddell's chart published in 1825, but the name ‘Needle Peak’ given by Discovery Investigations personnel following a 1935 survey has succeeded it in usage. Macy Glacier
Macy Glacier is a long and crescent-shaped glacier on the southern slopes of the Tangra Mountains, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The glacier is bounded by Friesland Ridge to the northwest, Levski Ridge to the northeast and Peshev Ridge to the southeast, and flows southwestwards into the head of Brunow Bay. The feature was named by the UK Antarctic Place-names Committee in 1958 for Robert Macy, Master of the brig ''Aurora'', one of the fleet of American sealers from New York which visited the South Shetland Islands in 1820–21. The Ludogorie ( bg, Лудогорие, usually used with a definite article, Лудогорието, ''Ludogorieto'') or Deliorman (''Делиорман'', tr, Deli Orman, lit=mad forest and Bulgarian: lud - "mad", "crazy" and gora - "forest"), is a region in northeastern Bulgaria stretching over the plateau of the same name. Prespa Glacier ( bg, ледник Преспа, lednik Prespa, ) on Rozhen Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica is situated east-northeast of Tarnovo Ice Piedmont, east of the head of Charity Glacier, southeast of Ruen Icefall and southwest of Macy Glacier. It is bounded to the east by Needle Peak and Ludogorie Peak, to the northwest by St. Cyril Peak and St. Methodius Peak, and to the southwest by Shumen Peak and Yambol Peak, and flows southeastward into Bransfield Strait between Gela Point and Samuel Point.
