Lucky Pulpit
Lucky Pulpit ( foaled February 10, 2001– February 13, 2017) was an American Thoroughbred stallion who stood at Harris Farms in Coalinga, California. Lucky Pulpit was a son of the Blue Grass Stakes winner Pulpit, and grandson of the 1992 United States Horse of the Year A.P. Indy. Although his own racing career was limited due to respiratory issues, Lucky Pulpit was best known as the sire of California Chrome, two-time American Horse of the Year, winner of the 2014 Kentucky Derby and 2014 Preakness Stakes and all-time leading North American horse in earnings won. At the time of Lucky Pulpit's death in 2017, he had sired 148 winners from 229 starters and was credited with progeny earnings of $24 million. Pulpit (horse)
Pulpit (February 15, 1994 – December 6, 2012) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the Fountain of Youth Stakes and Blue Grass Stakes and came fourth in the 1997 Kentucky Derby. Injured after that race, he retired to stud at Claiborne Farm near Paris, Kentucky where he became a successful sire. His descendants include leading sire in North America Tapit and multiple American Classic winners such as Tonalist and California Chrome. Background Pulpit was bred in Kentucky by Claiborne Farm, who purchased his fifth dam, Knight's Daughter, in 1951. Knight's Daughter produced Hall of Fame inductee Round Table for Claiborne in 1954 and his full sister Monarchy in 1957. Santa Catalina Stakes
The Robert B. Lewis Stakes is a Grade III American Thoroughbred horse race for three year old horses at the distance of one and one-sixteenth miles on the dirt held annually in late January or early February at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. History Inaugurated as the Santa Catalina Handicap in 1935, there was no race in 1936. Upon its return in 1937, it was run as the Santa Catalina California-Bred Championship Stakes until 1940 when it was renamed the Santa Catalina Nursery Stakes and was a three-furlong race for two-year-olds. Unbridled's Song (February 18, 1993 – July 26, 2013) was an American thoroughbred racehorse who won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, Florida Derby and Wood Memorial. Stardom Bound (foaled in Kentucky on April 9, 2006) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 2008 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies and the Eclipse Award for Champion 2-Year-Old Filly.
