Lucky Man Cree Nation
The Lucky Man Cree Nation ( cr, ᐸᐯᐍ papêwê) is a Cree First Nation in Saskatchewan, Canada. After spending more than a hundred years amalgamated into the Little Pine First Nation, the band was awarded the Lucky Man Reserve, on the eastern border of the RM of Meeting Lake. The re-established nation has the smallest membership in Treaty 6. History The nation is named for Chief Papaway, ᐸᐯᐍ ''papewê'' meaning "lucky man", headman for Little Pine when that group signed Treaty 6 at Fort Walsh in 1879. Settling near Battleford in 1883, he requested a reserve adjacent to Poundmaker, Little Pine, and Big Bear the following year. The government refused, on the grounds that the groups were too closely associated. By 1919, the Lucky Man band had dwindled to a population of nine, living on the Little Pine reserve. Starbuck (band)
Starbuck was a rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1974 by keyboardist/vocalist/record producer Bruce Blackman and marimba player Bo Wagner. Both Blackman and Wagner, along with guitarist Johnny Walker, had previous success with Mississippi-based "sunshine pop" group Eternity's Children, scoring a ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hit with "Mrs. Bluebird" in the summer of 1968. Wagner worked as a studio musician in Los Angeles in the early 1970s, appeared on The Lawrence Welk Show, and played drums for the extravagant pianist Liberace. Starbuck's debut single, "Moonlight Feels Right", reached the No. 3 position on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 singles charts in 1976. Although the band never re-created the success of their debut, several of their songs did chart in the Billboard Top 100, and their 1977 release "Everybody Be Dancin'" reached No. 38. Mr. Loco, also known as Mister Loco or Mr. Loco Band, is a Mexican band formed in 1975. They sing mostly in English and occasionally in Spanish. Their sound is a combination of pop rock and Latin American folk. History Mister Loco is an offshoot band established by previous members of the rock band Los Locos Del Ritmo. The members are Javier (Xavier) Garza Alarcón, Jorge García Castil, and Rafael Acosta. Although Mister Loco was formed in 1975, individually the six members studied Latin American folk and modern music for fifteen years. ''Lucky Man'' is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language fantasy comedy film directed by Pratap Pothen.
