Lucjan Kraszewski
Lucjan Kraszewski (24 July 1820, Pruzhany - 2 February 1892, Honiatycze) was a Polish artist and photographer who participated in the January Uprising. He was a younger brother of Józef Ignacy Kraszewski. Life a He was from a noble family, bearing the Jastrzębiec coat of arms; born to , a major landowner, and his wife, , née Malska. His older brother, Józef Ignacy Kraszewski, Józef, and his younger brother, Kajetan Kraszewski, Kajetan, were both popular authors. He originally attended the monastery school near Pruzhany, then the Gymnasium (school), gymnasium in Svislach. Later, he was enrolled in the natural sciences department at the University of Dorpat. After graduating, he returned to his family's estate and married Stefania Sulkouskaya. During his time at the university, he had become interested in drawing and painting.
