Lucila Masin
María Lucila Masin (born 31 May 1984) is an Argentine politician. She served as a National Deputy elected in Chaco Province, first elected in 2015 for the Front for Victory, and later re-elected in 2019 as part of the Frente de Todos. Early life and education Masin was born on 31 May 1984 in Villa Ocampo, a city in the General Obligado Department of Santa Fe Province. She completed a degree to be a professor of Education Sciences at the National University of the Northeast. She has one child. Masin's political activism began in a Kirchnerist political organization in Chaco, called La Pingüina. Political career Ahead of the 2015 legislative election, Masin was nominated as the second candidate in the Front for Victory (FPV) list to the Argentine Chamber of Deputies, behind Analía Rach Quiroga. The Chamber of Deputies ( es, Cámara de Diputados de la Nación), officially the Honorable Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation, is the lower house of the Argentine National Congress ( es, Congreso de la Nación). It is made up of 257 national deputies who are elected in multi-member constituencies corresponding with the territories of the 23 provinces of Argentina (plus the Federal Capital) by party list proportional representation. Elections to the Chamber are held every two years, so that half of its members are up in each election, making it a rare example of staggered elections used in a lower house. Oscar Domingo Peppo (born 6 July 1958) is an Argentine politician. He was elected governor of the Chaco Province in 2015 (with 55.42% of the vote). In the early 1980s, he received a degree in construction, hydraulic and civil engineering in Resistencia and later worked as technical representative and general coordinator of the silo plants for a company. He also previously served as mayor of Villa Ángela. Resistencia, Chaco
Resistencia () is the capital and largest city of the province of Chaco in north-eastern Argentina. According to the 2010 census, the population of the city proper was 291,720 inhabitants. It is the anchor of a larger metropolitan area, Greater Resistencia, which comprises at least three more municipalities for a total population of 387,340 as of 2010. This conurbation is the largest in the province, and the eleventh most populous in the country. It is located along the Negro River, a tributary of the much larger Paraná River, opposite the city of Corrientes, Corrientes Province. Elective Abortion in Argentina is legal in the first 14 weeks of gestation. The abortion law was liberalized after the Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy Bill (Argentina) was passed by the National Congress in December 2020. According to the law, any woman can request the procedure at any public or private health facility. Doctors are legally bound to either perform it or, if they are conscientious objectors, refer the patient to another physician or health facility. Only four other Latin or South American countries have legalised abortion on request: Cuba in 1965, Guyana in 1995, Uruguay in 2012 and Colombia in 2022.
