Lucia Evans
Lucia Evans (born 6 February 1982) is an Irish-Zimbabwean singer and winner of the 2006 season of the talent show ''You're a Star''. Career Though originally from Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, Evans is now living in Galway, Ireland, working as a full-time vocal coach. Evans's first single, "Bruised Not Broken", written by Don Black, Wayne Hector and Phill Thornalley and produced by Paul Staveley O'Duffy, was released on Universal Records and entered the Irish Singles Chart at number five on 20 April 2006. The song stayed in the top ten for three weeks. At the beginning of the 2007, she travelled to Burkina Faso in Africa with an RTÉ crew to make a documentary about children in the developing world. On 16 October 2009, she appeared on '' The Late Late Show'', singing a unique version of Justin Timberlake's " Cry Me A River" from her new album. ''You're a Star'' is an Irish music competition series broadcast by RTÉ One from 2002 to 2008. Produced by the broadcaster and Screentime ShinAwiL, the series was similar to formats such as ''Idol'' and ''The X Factor''. For its first three series, ''You're a Star'' was used to choose the musician who would perform the Irish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest. In later series, the grand prize was changed to a recording contract with Universal Music Ireland (with the Irish selection now conducted via the Eurosong qualifier, whose finals are hosted by '' The Late Late Show''), and later music equipment and €50,000. David O'Connor (singer)
David O'Connor is an Irish singer and former racing jockey from Ferns, County Wexford. He participated in the fifth series of RTÉ One television talent show ''You're a Star'', finishing as the series winner on 18 March 2007. During the show he charted in Ireland with a recording of one of his live performances. O'Connor previously had a racing career and on one occasion represented Ireland in the Karaoke World Championships. Early life His parents are Willie and Martina from Páirc Mhuire. O'Connor engaged in public performance whilst working as a barman. He was a member of Ferns Dramatic Society, with which he took part in some musicals and variety shows. Racing O'Connor, whose passions include horses, was previously a jockey, and has worked with the renowned trainer Colm Murphy.
