Killer Whale Attacks On Humans
Orcas (or killer whales) are large, powerful apex predators. In the wild, there have been no reliably verified fatal attacks on humans. In captivity, there have been several non-fatal and four fatal attacks on humans since the 1970s. Experts are divided as to whether the injuries and deaths were accidental or deliberate attempts to cause harm. Incidents with wild orcas There are a few recorded cases of wild orcas threatening humans. Lucette Aldous
Lucette Aldous (26 September 1938 – 5 June 2021) was an Australian prima ballerina during her performing years. She was the resident principal dancer with The Australian Ballet, and well known for performing the role of Kitri in the film of Rudolf Nureyev's production of ''Don Quixote'', receiving many honours for her years of performance including being appointed AC in the 2018 Australia Day Honours list. Early life Lucette Aldous was born in Auckland, New Zealand in September 1938 and moved to Perth, Western Australia when she was four months old. She started her training at the age of 3 in 1941 and studied under Australian teacher Phyllis Danaher. In 1955 Aldous received a scholarship to attend the Royal Ballet School in London. She later performed in a European tour as part of the Royal Ballet partnering Rudolf Nureyev in ''The Nutcracker''. Lucette Finas (born 13 July 1921) is a French author and essayist, part of the Structuralism, structuralist movement. She has published several articles relating interviews with French scholars and philosophers in the 1970s, like writers Nathalie Sarraute, philosopher and historian Michel Foucault or philosopher Jacques Derrida. Lucette Lagnado
Lucette Matalon Lagnado (September 19, 1956 – July 10, 2019) was an Egyptian-born American journalist and memoirist. She was a reporter for ''The Wall Street Journal''. Biography Lagnado was born to a Jewish family in Cairo, Egypt. She attended P.S. 205 in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York City, and was a graduate of Vassar College. Lagnado wrote a prize-winning memoir about her childhood, ''The Man in the White Sharkskin Suit: My Family's Exodus from Old Cairo to the New World''. The book, published by Ecco, was awarded the 2008 Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature. The prize, which is administered by the New York-based Jewish Book Council, comes with a $100,000 stipend and is the richest cash award in the Jewish literary world. The presentation of the Rohr Prize took place in Jerusalem in April 2008.
