Lucerne–Immensee Railway Line
The Lucerne–Immensee railway line is a railway line in Switzerland that connects Lucerne with Immensee, the starting point of the Gotthard railway. It was built by the (GB) and opened on 1 June 1897 as the approach from Lucerne to the Gotthard railway. Swiss Museum Of Transport
The Swiss Museum of Transport or Verkehrshaus der Schweiz (literally "Transportation House of Switzerland") in Lucerne opened in July 1959 and exhibits all forms of transport including trains, automobiles, ships and aircraft as well as communication technology. It is Switzerland's most popular museum. The museum also maintains a large collection of work by Hans Erni, a local painter and sculptor. The Gotthard railway (german: Gotthardbahn; it, Ferrovia del Gottardo) is the Swiss trans-alpine railway line from northern Switzerland to the canton of Ticino. The line forms a major part of an important international railway link between northern and southern Europe, especially on the Rotterdam-Basel-Genoa corridor. Voralpen-Express
The ''Voralpen-Express'' (''VAE'') is a named train connecting small to medium-sized cities and villages in Central and Eastern Switzerland, carrying this name since 1992. It is operated by Südostbahn (SOB) and runs every hour between St. Gallen and Lucerne, bypassing Zurich. Its name derives from the fact that it traverses the Prealps (German: Voralpen). Brunnen Railway Station
Brunnen railway station (german: Bahnhof Brunnen) is a railway station serving the resort of Brunnen, in the Swiss canton of Schwyz and municipality of Ingenbohl. It is located on the Gotthard railway, and is served by long-distance trains as well as by commuter and suburban trains. History After some argument between the inhabitants of Brunnen and those of Ingenbohl about the location, the station was opened in 1882, when the Gotthardbahn opened the section from Immensee to Bellinzona. Romanshorn railway station (german: Bahnhof Romanshorn) is a railway station that serves the municipality of Romanshorn, in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. Opened in 1855, the station is owned and operated by SBB-CFF-FFS.
