Luc Charles Olivier Merenda (born 3 September 1943) is a French film actor. He was one of the most prominent actors of the Italian poliziotteschi genre, working several times with Sergio Martino and Fernando Di Leo. He is of Italian origin through his paternal grandfather. ''Shoot First, Die Later'' ( it, Il poliziotto è marcio) is a 1974 Italian poliziottesco-noir film directed by Fernando Di Leo. Di Leo reprises some elements of the novel ''Rogue Cop'' by William P. McGivern. Luc Merenda later starred in two other Di Leo's films, ''Kidnap Syndicate'' and ''Nick the Sting''. Plot A policeman who has dealings with local crime begins to get in over his head. At first content with taking payments for helping contraband tobacco and alcohol escape notice of the authorities, he draws the line when the criminals get into the drug smuggling business. A local busybody has inadvertently witnessed the disposal of one of their victims and reported their licence plates to the policeman's father, who is a sergeant. Gradually more people around him turn up dead and he becomes increasingly desperate. It is also known as: ''Sisters of Satan'' (UK) and ''The Nuns of Saint Archangel'' (US). The action is set in the 16th century at the convent of Sant Arcangelo, near Naples, then under Spanish rule. ''Destruction Force'' (originally titled ''La banda del trucido'' (''The Numbskull's Gang''), also known as ''Dirty Gang'') is a 1977 Italian poliziottesco directed by Stelvio Massi. It is the second film in which Tomas Milian plays the character of Monnezza after ''Free Hand for a Tough Cop'' (''Il trucido e lo sbirro''). The participation of Milian was due to an old contract he was forced to fulfill; originally intended as a special appearance, the role of Milian was expanded to make it appear as the star of the film, and Milian obtained in exchange to construct his character as he wanted and to write (uncredited) his dialogue lines.
