Uganda Martyrs' Hospital Lubaga, commonly known as Lubaga Hospital, which was formerly named Rubaga Hospital, is a private, not-for-profit, community hospital in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Location The hospital is located on Lubaga Hill, in Lubaga Division, in the western part of Kampala. It is located approximately , southwest of Mulago National Referral Hospital. The Archdiocese of Kampala is the Metropolitan See for the Roman Catholic Ecclesiastical province of Kampala in Uganda. History The present Kampala Archdiocese is the result of territorial changes: * Victoria Nyanza Vicariate (1883). It was established by the Holy See in 1883 and was entrusted to the Missionaries of Africa commonly known as the White Fathers. Rubaga became the seat of the Bishop. * Upper Nile Vicariate (1894). On July 13, 1894, the Holy See erected the Upper Nile Vicariate dividing it from Victoria Nyanza Vicariate and entrusted it to the Mill Hill Missionaries. Nsambya became the seat of the Bishop. The name of Vicariate Nyanza Vicariate was also changed to Vicariate Apostolic of Northern Victoria Nyanza. * Vicariate of Uganda (1915). Mulago National Specialised Hospital, also known as Mulago National Referral Hospital, is a component of Mulago Hospital Complex, the teaching facility of Makerere University College of Health Sciences. It is the largest public hospital in Uganda. Location The hospital is on Mulago Hill in the northern part of the city of Kampala, immediately west of the Makerere University College of Health Sciences.
