Lowell Charter Township is a charter township of Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 5,949 at the 2010 census. The city of Lowell is bordered on the north, but the two are administered autonomously. The township is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and is located about east of the city of Grand Rapids. Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and (2.25%) is water. Grand Rapids Metropolitan Area
The Grand Rapids metropolitan area is a triangular shaped Metro Triplex, in West Michigan, which fans out westward from the primary hub city of Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the other two metro hubs of Muskegon and Holland. The Grand River (Ottawa: ''Owashtanong'', "Far-Flowing Water") is a river in the southwestern portion of the southern peninsula of Michigan, United States, that flows into Lake Michigan's southeastern shore. Vergennes Township is a civil township of Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 4,189. It is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and is located about east of the city of Grand Rapids. Communities *Fallasburg is an unincorporated community on the eastern side of the township.
