Lovers And Friends (play)
''Lovers and Friends'' is an American soap opera that aired on NBC from January 3 to May 6, 1977. When the show didn't catch on immediately, NBC put the show on hiatus for seven months, and then brought it back on December 6, 1977, as a retooled show with the title ''For Richer, For Poorer''. The show continued on until it came to an end on September 29, 1978. The show was created by Harding Lemay and Paul Rauch, who were both also working for the daytime drama '' Another World''. ''Lovers and Friends'' was not a spinoff or an indirect spin-off of the former series; however, it did take the place of the direct ''Another World'' spinoff, ''Somerset'', on the NBC schedule upon its premiere. None of the show's characters came from ''Another World'', nor did any of that show's characters appear on it until it became ''For Richer, For Poorer''. Harding Lemay
Harding Lemay (March 16, 1922 – May 26, 2018), also known as Pete Lemay, was an American screenwriter and playwright. He was best known for his stint as head writer of the soap opera '' Another World''. Career Lemay was head writer of the soap opera '' Another World'', from 1971 to 1979. The series earned a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 1976. By 1979, Lemay decided not to continue writing the series for a ninth straight calendar year, and first handed over the reins to a new writer before exiting for good later that year. He also wrote out three of the show's most popular actors George Reinholt (Steve Frame), Jacqueline Courtney ( Alice Matthews Frame), and Virginia Dwyer (Mary Matthews), in 1975. Nancy Snyder (born December 2, 1949) is an American actress who won the Clarence Derwent Award in 1976 and the Outer Critics Circle Best Actress award in the 1977–78 season. Life and career Snyder was born in Kankakee, Illinois, the daughter of Idelle ( Bonham) and John Marshall Snyder Sr., a director of research. ''Hollywood Squares'' (originally ''The Hollywood Squares'') is an American game show in which two contestants compete in a game of tic-tac-toe to win cash and prizes. The show piloted on NBC in 1965 and the regular series debuted in 1966 on the same network. The board for the game is a 3 × 3 vertical stack of open-faced cubes, each occupied by a celebrity seated at a desk and facing the contestants. The stars are asked questions by the host and the contestants judge the truth of their answers to gain squares in the right pattern to win the game. Patricia Barry (born Patricia Allen White, November 16, 1921 – October 11, 2016) was an American stage, film, and television actress. Although Barry has numerous credits performing in stage productions and in films, the majority of her work was in television between 1950 and 2005, when she appeared in over 100 series either in supporting roles or as a guest star. Early years The daughter of a physician, Barry was born in Davenport, Iowa.
