Lovell River
The Lovell River is a river in eastern New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of Ossipee Lake, part of the Saco River drainage basin, watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. The Lovell River flows out of the Ossipee Mountains, a circular mountain range lying south of the White Mountains (New Hampshire), White Mountains. The river rises in the northeastern corner of the town of Moultonborough, New Hampshire, Moultonborough at the saddle between Faraway Mountain and Mount Shaw, the highest peaks in the Ossipees. The Lovell River flows east into the town of Ossipee, New Hampshire, Ossipee, passing just south of Conner Pond and leaving the mountains at New Hampshire Route 16, after which it crosses a narrow river delta and enters Ossipee Lake. New Hampshire Route 16 (NH 16) is a , north–south state highway in New Hampshire, United States, the main road connecting the Seacoast region to the Lakes Region and the White Mountains. Mount Shaw
Mount Shaw is a mountain located in the towns of Moultonborough and Tuftonboro in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It is part of the remains of an ancient volcanic ring dike. With a summit elevation of , it is the highest of the Ossipee Mountains. The Ossipee ring-dike complex of central New Hampshire is a visible remnant of a 125 million year old Cretaceous stratovolcano, a member of the later White Mountain igneous province. The complex is circular as viewed on maps and has a diameter of . White Mountains (New Hampshire)
The White Mountains are a mountain range covering about a quarter of the state of New Hampshire and a small portion of western Maine in the United States. Ossipee Lake
Ossipee Lake is located in Carroll County in eastern New Hampshire, in the communities of Ossipee and Freedom. At , it is the sixth-largest lake located entirely in New Hampshire. The lake is fed by the West Branch (entering from the north), the Bearcamp and Lovell rivers (entering from the west), and the Pine River (from the south). Water leaves the eastern end of the lake via the Ossipee River, flowing to the Saco River in Maine. Ossipee Lake is a popular vacation site. The land surrounding the lake is home to numerous condo, cabin, and lake house developments.
