Lovelady Powell (born Lovelady Hedges, May 9, 1930 – February 2, 2020) was an American actress and singer, best known for '' I Never Sang for My Father'', '' The Possession of Joel Delaney'' and ''The Happy Hooker''. Life and career Powell was born in Columbus, Ohio, and studied theater at Northwestern University. In the mid-1950s, she moved to New York City, where she had a supper-club act with pianist Brooks Morton. She also performed as a singer in night clubs, including the Blue Angel, Bon Soir, hungry i and Purple Onion. She and Shelley Berman made the recording " The Sex Life of the Primate." On television, Powell portrayed Aunt Birdie Clayborn on ''The Secret Storm'' and Portia Fitzsimmons on ''Dark Shadows''. Greg Lovelady
Greg Lovelady (born January 11, 1979) is an American baseball coach. Lovelady played college baseball at Miami Hurricanes baseball, Miami (FL), where as a catcher and four-year letter winner, he won the 1999 College World Series and 2001 College World Series. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Florida Marlins organization, and played one season with the Utica Blue Sox before turning to coaching. He served three more years at Miami, working with catchers. In his seven years in Coral Gables, the Hurricanes reached five College World Series, winning two, and appeared in the Super Regional round all seven years. In 2005, Lovelady accepted an assistant coach position at Wright State. Two years later, he added associate head coach duties. With Rob Cooper's move to Penn State Nittany Lions baseball, Penn State, Lovelady was elevated to the top job. John Lovelady is an American puppeteer who worked with the Muppets, including on the PBS series '' Sesame Street''. Lovelady is originally from Oxford, Mississippi. The In Amenas hostage crisis began on 16 January 2013, when al-Qaeda-linked terrorists affiliated with a brigade led by Mokhtar Belmokhtar took expat hostages at the Tigantourine gas facility near In Amenas, Algeria. One of Belmokhtar's senior lieutenants, Abdul al Nigeri, led the attack and was among the terrorists killed. After four days, the Algerian special forces raided the site, in an effort to free the hostages. At least 39 foreign hostages were killed along with an Algerian security guard, although the true figure is not known, as were 29 terrorists. A total of 685 Algerian workers and 107 foreigners were freed. Three terrorists were captured. It was one of many attacks in the Maghreb carried out by Islamist groups since 2002. William Lovelady (born 1945) is an English guitarist and composer who has also performed and published as Bill Lovelady. His ''London Rhapsody'' for guitar was published by Schott. His music has been aired frequently by BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM. He has collaborated with Art Garfunkel, South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela, L. Shankar and Julian Lloyd Webber. Lovelady is a town in Houston County, Texas, United States. The population was 570 at the 2020 census. History Lovelady was founded by investors of the Houston & Great Northern Railroad as a railway line was built through a land grant of Cyrus Lovelady, near the communities of Nevil's Prairie, Pennington, and Weldon. The U.S. Post Office opened on November 8, 1872. The town soon had livery, stables, blacksmith shop, and hotels, prospering as both a marketplace and a shipping point.
