''From a Girl's Point of View We Give to You... Love Unlimited'' is the debut studio album of American soul vocal trio Love Unlimited, released in 1972 on Uni/MCA Records. Produced by soul recording artist Barry White, for whom the trio served as a backing group at the time, the album was arranged by White and conductor Gene Page. It was digitally remastered by recording engineer Bill Inglot and reissued on May 10, 1994 by Varèse Vintage. Love Unlimited was a female vocal trio that provided backing vocals for American singer-songwriter Barry White on his albums and concert tours. They also found success with their own recordings. Career Formed in 1969, the group included Barry White's future wife, Glodean James, her sister, Linda James, and their cousin Diane Taylor (who died of cancer in Pomona, California on November 29, 1985 at age 38). Their first hit was " Walkin' in the Rain with the One I Love" in 1972. It peaked at number 14 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, number 7 on the ''Cash Box'' Top 100, and 6 on the Best Selling Soul Singles Chart. It was also successful in the United Kingdom, peaking at number 14 on the UK Singles Chart. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc by the RIAA in July 1972. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. This tracking period also applies to compiling online streaming data. "If This World Were Mine" is a 1967 song by soul music duo Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell from their album ''United''. Written solely by Gaye, it was one of the few songs they recorded without Ashford & Simpson writing or producing. Tom James Brocker (August 25, 1942 – May 25, 2002), known as Tom Brock, was an American soul singer, born in Austin Texas. Brock worked with Barry White on the 20th Century Records label in the 1970s. He wrote songs for Gloria Scott's 1974 album ''What Am I Gonna Do?'', including "A Case of Too Much Love Makin". That same year he also released his one and only album, ''I Love You More And More'', which included a highly popular title track. The album was produced by White and Gene Page. The song "There's Nothing in This World That Can Stop Me From Loving You" was later sampled by producer Just Blaze for the single " Girls, Girls, Girls" on Jay-Z's album ''The Blueprint'' in 2001. Holland–Dozier–Holland was a songwriting and production team consisting of Lamont Dozier and brothers Brian and Eddie Holland. The trio wrote, arranged and produced many songs that helped define the Motown sound in the 1960s. During their tenure at Motown Records from 1962 to 1967, Dozier and Brian Holland were the composers and producers for each song, and Eddie Holland wrote the lyrics and arranged the vocals. A suite, in Western classical music and jazz, is an ordered set of instrumental or orchestral/ concert band pieces. It originated in the late 14th century as a pairing of dance tunes and grew in scope to comprise up to five dances, sometimes with a prelude, by the early 17th century. The separate movements were often thematically and tonally linked. The term can also be used to refer to similar forms in other musical traditions, such as the Turkish fasıl and the Arab nuubaat.
