Lousada
Lousada () is a town and municipality of the Porto district, in northern Portugal. The population in 2011 was 47,387, in an area of 96.08 km². It includes the site of Ancient Magnetum (Portuguese Magneto), in the civil parish Meinedo, which briefly was a short-lived Suebi-Galician bishopric and is now a Latin Catholic titular see. Ecclesiastical history In 569 as Diocese of Magnetum (Latin) / Magneto (Curiate Italiano and Portuguese) / Magneten(sis) (Latin adjective) was established on territory of the Kingdom of the Suebi in Galicia, split off from the Archdiocese of Braga, its apparent Metropolitan. In 585, when the kingdom was annexed by the Visigoths, and was turned into the sixth province of the Visigothic Kingdom of Hispania, the bishopric was suppressed, its territory being reassigned to establish the Diocese of Portucale (present see of Porto). Rui Pedro Teixeira Mendonça (born 28 January 1987) is a Portuguese child who went missing on 4 March 1998 in Lousada, northern Portugal. Mendonça was 11 years old and riding his bicycle outside near his home when he disappeared. The subsequent police investigation was criticized by both the media and by the missing boy's family. Mendonça's whereabouts remain unknown, and he was declared legally dead in 2019. Léon Kalenga Badikebele (17 July 1956 – 12 June 2019) was a Congolese prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He held the rank of Apostolic Nuncio beginning in 2008 and was Nuncio to Argentina from 2018 until his death in June 2019. Biography He was born in Kamina, Haut-Lomami, then in the Belgian Congo, on 17 July 1956. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Luebo on 5 September 1982. In 1988 he entered the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy and on 27 February 1990 entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See. His early assignments took him to Haiti, Guatemala, Zambia, Brazil, Egypt, Zimbabwe and Japan.
