Lounge On The Farm
Lounge On The Farm was a music festival held annually at Merton Farm, Canterbury, Kent, which attracted thousands of visitors each year. Organisers presented it as ‘non-conformist’ and promoted bands and produce from Kent. The event was held in the nine years from 2006 to 2015, before being ‘shelved’. , it has yet to return. 2006 The first Lounge On The Farm festival, took place during the weekend of 15–16 July 2006 with a DJ tent, acoustic tent, and main stage, (later the Cow Shed). Around 80 acts performed. They included:- *Vincent Vincent and the Villains * The Egg *Nizlopi * The View * Kitty Daisy & Lewis *The Buff Medways *Syd Arthur 2007 The festival was held over three days with more acts than the first event. Those Dancing Days
Those Dancing Days were an indie pop band from Nacka, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden. Most frequently compared to Northern Soul and 1960s era girl-groups, the band formed in 2005 while the members were all still in school. They were signed to Wichita Recordings. The band consisted of five people from Stockholm. Their name derived from the Led Zeppelin song "Dancing Days" pitched by the band's bassist, Mimmi. History Two of the band members completed school as late as summer 2008, and they received a lot of publicity during 2007, including being featured in NME and on MTV2. Los Campesinos!
Los Campesinos! are a seven-piece indie pop band from Cardiff, Wales, formed in early 2006 at Cardiff University. Though the band formed in Wales, none of the members are Welsh. The band has gone through several lineup changes during their career, with their current lineup consisting of Gareth Paisey (lead vocals, lyrics, glockenspiel), Neil Turner (guitar), Tom Bromley (guitar), Rob Taylor (guitar, other instruments), Kim Paisey (keyboards, vocals), Matt Fidler (bass) and Jason Adelinia (drums); the members replace their surnames with "Campesinos!" as stage names. Holy Fuck (band)
Holy Fuck is a Canadian electronica band from Toronto. They were a part of Dependent Music, a music label and artist collective that began in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia in 2004 until its closing. They were then a part of the Young Turks label and in 2016 they signed with Innovative Leisure. The band uses live instrumentation and miscellaneous instruments and non-instruments (including a 35 mm film synchronizer, toy keyboards and toy phaser guns) to achieve electronic-sounding effects without the use of laptops or programmed backing tracks. Devonté Hynes (born David Joseph Michael Hynes, 23 December 1985), also known as Blood Orange and formerly Lightspeed Champion, is an English singer, songwriter, record producer and director based in New York City. Mystery Jets are an English indie rock band, formerly based on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham, London. The band consists of Blaine Harrison (vocals, guitar and keyboards), Jack Flanagan (bass and vocals), Kapil Trivedi (drums) and Henry Harrison (lyrics). The New York Dolls
New York Dolls were an American rock band formed in New York City in 1971. Along with the Velvet Underground and the Stooges, they were one of the first bands of the early punk rock scenes. Although the band never achieved much commercial success and their original line-up fell apart quickly, the band's first two albums—''New York Dolls'' (1973) and '' Too Much Too Soon'' (1974)—became among the most popular cult records in rock. Sonny J, short for Sonnington James III, is an English electronic musician from Liverpool, currently living in Kent. His debut single, "Can't Stop Moving", was brought out by Stateside Records in 2007. The track has been used frequently as background music on the ''X Factor'' and ''Britain's Got Talent''. His second and third singles, "Enfant Terrible" and "Handsfree (If You Hold My Hand)" featuring Donna Hightower, were released on 9 June 2008, followed by his debut album '' Disastro'' the week after, on 16 June.
