Louisiana Outlaws
Lafayette Swamp Cats were an American soccer team, founded in 2000. The team was a member of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, until 2004, when the team left the league and the franchise was terminated. They were given "provisional status" in 2000, and played 12 exhibition games against other PDL sides, before joining the league full-time in 2001 as the Louisiana Outlaws, a name they kept until 2003, when they changed their name to the Swamp Cats. The Swamp Cats played their home games at Clark Field in the city of Lafayette, Louisiana. The team's colors were red and yellow. Sean Connor
Sean Connor (born 12 July 1967) is a Northern Irish football manager and former player who was most recently manager of NIFL Championship side Institute. He had a brief playing career which included spells at Distillery, Port Vale, Macclesfield Town, Ards, and Cliftonville. He spent some years as a coach in the United States and England, before he was appointed as manager of Sligo Rovers in September 2004. He led the club to the League of Ireland First Division title in 2005. He took charge at Bohemians in November 2006, before losing his job in December 2007. He was appointed Dundalk manager in December 2008, and then joined Galway United as manager in December 2010. He then had brief and highly unsuccessful spells coaching in Africa with Zimbabwean side CAPS United in 2012 and South African club Black Leopards in 2014. USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional developmental soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States and Canada, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The league features 113 teams for 2022, split into sixteen regional divisions across four conferences. USL League Two is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. Ventura County Fusion are the current champions, having defeated Long Island Rough Riders 2–1 in the 2022 USL League Two Championship game on August 6, 2022. 2004 PDL Season
The 2004 USL Premier Development League season was the 10th PDL season. The season began in April 2004 and ended in August 2004. Central Florida Kraze finished the season as national champions, beating Boulder Rapids Reserve 1–0 in the PDL Championship game. Chicago Fire Reserves finished with the best regular season record in the league, winning 17 out of their 18 games, suffering no losses, and finishing with a +66 goal difference. El Paso Patriots striker Julio Frias was the league's top scorer, with 25 goals, while DFW Tornados midfielder Mark Rowland led the league with 11 assists. Chicago Fire Reserves keeper Brad Guzan enjoyed the best goalkeeping statistics, with a goals-against average of 0.39 per game in his 13 games. American Soccer Pyramid
The United States soccer league system is a series of professional and amateur soccer leagues based, in whole or in part, in the United States. Sometimes called the American soccer pyramid, teams and leagues are not linked by the system of promotion and relegation typical in soccer elsewhere. Instead, the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) defines professional leagues in three levels, called divisions, with all other leagues sanctioned by the USSF not having an official designated level or division. For practical and historical reasons, some teams from Bermuda, Canada, and Puerto Rico (considered a separate country by FIFA) can also compete in these leagues.
