Louisa Mabe
Louisa Lorato Mabe (born 6 October 1959) is a South African politician who served as the North West's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Finance from 2009 to 2012 and as MEC for Education from 2012 to 2013. Before joining the North West Provincial Legislature, she represented her party, the African National Congress (ANC), in the National Assembly from 2001 to 2009. Premier Thandi Modise fired her from the Executive Council in June 2013 after she was accused of involvement in procurement irregularities. Parliament: 2001–2009 Mabe was born on 6 October 1959. She joined the National Assembly on 3 July 2001, filling a casual vacancy in the ANC's caucus, and was elected to a full term in the seat in the 2004 general election. Sizeni Grace Pampiri-Bothman is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from November 2010 to May 2014. She has been a member of the Central Committee of the South African Communist Party (SACP) since 2012. Before joining the National Assembly, Bothman served in the North West Provincial Legislature, where she was the North West's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Sports, Arts and Culture from May 2009 to August 2010. Her dismissal from the Executive Council, effected by Premier Maureen Modiselle, was highly unpopular with both the SACP and the Congress of South African Trade Unions and therefore severely undermined the ANC's relations with its Tripartite Alliance partners in the North West. Rustenburg Local Municipality is a local municipality in Bojanala Platinum District Municipality, North West Province, South Africa. Rustenburg City is situated at the foot of the Magalies mountain range in the North West province of South Africa. 2021 South African Municipal Elections
The 2021 South African municipal elections were held on 1 November 2021, to elect councils for all district, metropolitan and local municipalities in each of the country's nine provinces. It is the sixth municipal election held in South Africa since the end of apartheid in 1994, held every five years. The previous municipal elections were held in 2016. On 21 April 2021, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the elections will be held on Wednesday, 27 October 2021. It had been recommend by Dikgang Moseneke to delay the municipal elections until 2022. The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) requested the Constitutional Court to support the date postponement. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supported the date postponement while the Democratic Alliance (DA) was against the postponement of the date. 2014 South African General Election
General elections were held in South Africa on 7 May 2014, to elect a new National Assembly and new provincial legislatures in each province. It was the fifth election held in South Africa under conditions of universal adult suffrage since the end of the apartheid era in 1994, and also the first held since the death of Nelson Mandela. It was also the first time that South African expatriates were allowed to vote in a South African national election. The National Assembly election was won by the African National Congress (ANC), but with a reduced majority of 62.1%, down from 65.9% in the 2009 election. The official opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) increased its share of the vote from 16.7% to 22.2%, while the newly formed Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) obtained 6.4% of the vote.
