Jose Luis "Louie" Gonzalez (sometimes misspelled as Louie Gonzales) is a former collegiate basketball player who currently serves as the head coach of the JRU Heavy Bombers. Coaching career Early career Gonzalez, a Letran alumnus, son of a former La Salle Greenhills Greenies Tanny Gonzalez, worked with Binky Favis in the late 1990s. He's a part of Letran championship run at 1999. After his stint at Letran, he coached at British School Manila and then became part of Glenn Capacio's coaching staff at FEU Tamaraws from 2007 to 2010. He joined Globalport Batang Pier, and reunited again with Capacio. When Pido Jarencio took over, Gonzalez left for Kia Sorento in 2014. In 2015, Gonzalez, returned to Letran, with Ayo, a former player of the 1999 team, was coaching, and Capacio also joined. They won the 2015 title. Glenn Capacio
Glenn Capacio (born May 15, 1964, in Palo, Leyte) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the former head coach of PBA team GlobalPort Batang Pier and was also the former head coach of the FEU Tamaraws from 2007 to 2010. College and amateur career Capacio was the FEU Tamaraws' skipper during the 1983 UAAP season and the most dependable performer for rookie coach Bong Chua. He started his basketball career at Far Eastern University under coach Arturo Valenzona for two years and a year under coach Chee Poblete. He studied at Leyte Institute of Technology during high school and later moved to Manila and joined the Trinity College team for a year until graduation before moving on to FEU. NCAA Season 99 Basketball Tournaments
The NCAA Season 99 basketball tournaments are the basketball tournaments of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) for its 2023–24 season. The tournament is being hosted by José Rizal University. There are two tournaments, the men's tournament for male college students, and the juniors' tournament for male senior high school students. The San Beda Red Lions defeated the Mapúa Cardinals in the Finals. Both teams split the first two Finals games, then San Beda pulled away late in the fourth quarter of Game 3 to win their first title since 2018. The Cardinals had finished first in the elimination round; they then defeated the Benilde Blazers in the semifinals. Meanwhile, the Lyceum Pirates finished second, and lost to the Red Lions twice in the semifinals to be eliminated. The NCAA Season 98 basketball tournaments are the basketball tournaments of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) for its 2022–23 season. Emilio Aguinaldo College hosted the tournaments for the first time. The men's tournament was held in September 2022, just over three months after Season 97 ended. The juniors' tournament began in January 2023, the first tournament since Season 95, and the COVID-19 pandemic. The NCAA Season 97 men's basketball tournament was the basketball tournaments of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) for its 2021–22 season. This was the first tournament since the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, and since 2019 after the planned 96th season was cancelled because of the pandemic. Only the men's tournament for college students was held; the juniors' tournament for senior high school students last held in 2019 was canceled. The NCAA Season 95 basketball tournaments are the 95th basketball season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) (NCAA). Arellano University are the season hosts. Separate seniors' and juniors' tournaments are held for male college and senior high school students, respectively. Bamboo Mañalac and performers from Arellano University performed in the opening ceremony held at the Mall of Asia Arena on July 7, 2019. The Letran Knights won the seniors' championship after beating three-time defending champions and erstwhile unbeaten San Beda Red Lions in the Finals. Finishing the elimination round undefeated, the Red Lions advanced to the Finals outright. UAAP Season 81
UAAP Season 81 is the 2018–19 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). This season is hosted by National University. Eight member universities of the UAAP competed in the league's fifteen sports to vie for the general championship. Opening ceremony The opening ceremony was held on September 8, 2018 at the Mall of Asia Arena with the tagline "It All Begins Here". The ceremony kicked off with an intermission number led by the NU Chorale, NU Underdawgz and the NU Pep Squad. NBA star Stephen Curry made a special appearance and led the oath of sportsmanship for the athletes.
