Louden Machinery Company
The Louden Machinery Company was an American engineering, manufacturing and design company based in Fairfield, Iowa. Founded by William Louden, the company in its early years manufactured and sold the patented hay carrier that he invented in 1867. The company later expanded into a wide variety of farm equipment and, in 1906, began an Architecture Department that reportedly designed more than 25,000 barns from 1906 to 1939. During World War I, Louden's monorail equipment carrier began to be applied to industrial and military applications. By the 1920s, much of the company's revenues were derived from industrial applications of its monorail equipment carriers. Several sites associated with the company have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Bill Louden
William P. "Baldy" Louden (August 27, 1883 – December 8, 1935) was an American baseball player. He played professional baseball from 1906 to 1920, including six years in Major League Baseball as an infielder with the New York Highlanders (1907), Detroit Tigers (1912–1913), Buffalo Buffeds (1914–1915), and Cincinnati Reds (1916). He appeared in 603 major league games (313 at second base, 176 at shortstop) and compiled a .261 batting average and a .355 on-base percentage. Early years Louden was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1883. Professional baseball Louden began his professional baseball career playing with the Allegheny Hilldales in the Pittsburgh sandlots, before moving on to the Texas League where he played for the Greenville Hunters and Dallas Giants in 1906 and 1907. George Louden
George Marshall Louden (6 September 1885 – 28 December 1972) was an Essex cricketer who was for a period after World War I almost certainly the best hard-wicket bowler in England. He was very tall at around , and although not strongly enough framed to be ideal for long spells on hard wickets, his remarkably beautiful action compensated. Even on the exquisite Leyton pitches, he was able to pick up speed and lift the ball sharply, and it could be very challenging if there was a heavy dew or rain that softened the ground. However, owing to business commitments, most of Louden's cricket was played for the Ilford club. Typically he was able to play seven or eight county matches per season. James Keith Louden (March 4, 1905 — August 12, 1994) was an American industrial engineer, business executive, and management author. He served as the 4th president of the Society for Advancement of Management in the year 1941-1942, and was the recipient of the 1949 Gilbreth Medal. Her treatment for Crush syndrome, Crush Syndrome saved hundreds of people dug out from buildings damaged from The Blitz bombings during her time working as consultant surgeon at the South London Hospital for Women and Children. Michael Louden
Michael Louden (April 21, 1964 – September 4, 2004) was an American actor. Career Louden was born in Marblehead, Massachusetts and went on to become an actor. He studied theater at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill but graduated from Juilliard. He started as a 1988-day player on daytime soap '' Another World'' but his most notable role was Duke Kramer on ''As the World Turns''. Duke was a moody young man who discovered his father was the volatile John Dixon (allowing Louden many scenes with theater powerhouse Larry Bryggman). Duke went on to medical school as well as a lengthy relationship with Lien Hughes, played by future '' ER'' star Ming-Na Wen. Louden played the role from 1988 to 1990 and for a brief visit in 1993. Robert Louden
Robert Louden (died 1867), also known by the alias Charlie Dale, was a Confederate saboteur and mail carrier during the American Civil War. He was said to be the primary messenger between General Sterling Price and Confederate regulars and bushwhackers. As a Confederate agent, Louden was involved in the sabotage and sinking of several Union steamboats near St. Louis, Missouri and, on his deathbed, claimed to have been responsible for the destruction of the steamboat ''Sultana'', which exploded on April 27, 1865 just north of Memphis, Tennessee, killing an estimated 1,300 to 1,900 paroled Union prisoners and civilians returning home after the war, the deadliest maritime disaster in United States history.William A.
