Loud And Clear (Autograph Album)
''Loud and Clear'' is the third studio album by American glam metal band Autograph, released in 1987. It would be the final album to feature original material by all five original members. The band would not issue another release until 1997. Two of the tracks featured on this album, "Dance all Night" and "She Never Looked that Good For Me" appeared (alongside with the band members themselves) in the 1987 fantasy-comedy film '' Like Father Like Son'', released the same year. The original album issue, by RCA Records is out of print. The album was reissued on CD in 2006 by Rock Candy Records. ''Loud and Clear'' ultimately proved unsuccessful, with the album (or any other releases) not proving to be as commercially successful their 1984 debut the album failed in sales and subsequently the band went on a long hiatus. Autograph is an American glam metal band formed in Pasadena, California, in 1983. The band is best known for their 1984 hit song " Turn Up the Radio". Due to the song being their only major success, Autograph is often considered a one-hit wonder. History Formation and classic years (1983–1988) Autograph originally began in late 1983, as a solo project for singer, songwriter and guitarist Steve Plunkett, who had recently left the band Silver Condor. Plunkett was playing and recording his own material with a group of his musician friends, most of whom had previously played with him in other bands: On lead guitar was Steve Lynch, who had played with Plunkett in the band Looker. ''Like Father Like Son'' is a 1987 American fantasy-comedy film starring Dudley Moore and Kirk Cameron. Plot Chris Hammond is a high school senior. He likes a girl at school (Lori) who happens to be dating his rival and bully Rick. His father, Jack, is a very successful surgeon and working hard to get a promotion to the position of the chief of staff at his hospital. Steve Lynch
Steve Lynch (born January 18, 1955) is an American guitarist. He is best known as the co-founder and original lead guitarist of the glam metal/hard rock band Autograph. He decided to commit himself to music and mastering the guitar when Jimi Hendrix died in 1970. In addition to Hendrix, Lynch's influences came from late-1960s and early-1970s rock musicians such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and the Beatles. He initially played bass, however Hendrix's death influenced him to switch to guitar. Lynch gradually developed his signature two-handed (eight-finger) tapping technique throughout the 1970s and into the mid-1980s. Career Lynch rose to stardom in the mid-1980s, when his then-current band, Autograph, had a top-40 hit with " Turn Up the Radio", which peaked 29 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Vincent Neil Wharton (born February 8, 1961), best known by the stage name Vince Neil, is an American musician. John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence during the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, during which period he adopted the nickname "Prince of Darkness". ''Sign In Please'' is the debut studio album by American glam metal band Autograph. Released by RCA Records in 1984, the album features the band's only hit and signature song, " Turn Up the Radio". "Turn Up the Radio" was featured in a variety of media in the coming decades and is regarded as an '80s glam metal staple. Background According to lead guitarist Steve Lynch, the album took 30 days to record and master; "We were seasoned musicians in the studio so worked very fast and were always well prepared." Glam metal (also known as hair metal or pop metal) is a subgenre of heavy metal that features pop-influenced hooks and guitar riffs, upbeat rock anthems, and slow power ballads.
