Catch a Rising Star is a chain of comedy clubs, founded in New York City in December 1972 and owned by Rick Newman. It has since spread to other areas, such as Las Vegas and New Jersey. Currently owned by Suzy Yengo Esq. The original club in New York City was notable for its role in starting the careers of many famous singers and comedians, many of whom enjoyed later success in television, theater and film. Among these are: Pat Benatar, Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, Bill Maher, Joy Behar, Jerry Seinfeld, Andy Kaufman, Richard Belzer, Adam Sandler, Elayne Boosler, Eddie Murphy, Larry David, Ray Romano, Richard Lewis, Chris Rock, and Louis C.K. ''Life's Work'' is an American sitcom series that aired from September 1996 to June 1997 on ABC; the show stars Lisa Ann Walter as Lisa Ann Minardi Hunter, an assistant district attorney in Baltimore. Lisa Ann always wanted to practice law since she was young because she always argued with her parents. She also had a basketball coach husband named Kevin Hunter (Michael O'Keefe) who served as the patriarch of the family. ''Weakest Link'' is an American television game show that made its debut in 2001. It is an adaptation of the British television series of the same name. The series made its debut on NBC on April 16, 2001, and with the exception of the first 3 episodes which all aired the same week, the series aired once a week for an hour as part of the network's primetime schedule. The network cancelled ''Weakest Link'' in 2002 and its final episode aired on July 14, 2002, with ten episodes left unaired. These were eventually shown on PAX and GSN years later. ''The Big Moment'' is an American television game show based on the original Japanese version called ''Happy Family Plan''. It aired on ABC in 1999 and was hosted by Brad Sherwood. John Cramer served as announcer. It was originally an hour-long series, but due to low ratings, was cut to a half-hour after its second episode. The show's premise centered on one member of a family (or group of people) who was given one week to practice a certain task before the episode's taping. A video camera was provided to record the rehearsal process at home. At the end of the week, the contestant (and his/her family and other supporters) came to the studio to perform the task. The contestant was given only one attempt; if successful, he/she won a pre-selected prize package worth $25,000. If unsuccessful, he/she received a $2,000 consolation prize. ''You're On!'' is an American television game show aired from August 3 to December 5, 1998 on Nickelodeon. The show took a premise similar to ''Candid Camera''; however, to adopt the format better for a children's game show, ''You're On!'' featured youth contestants trying to convince a passersby to complete a series of predetermined tasks while unknowingly on camera. The show was taped in Soundstage 18 of Nickelodeon Studios Florida and was hosted by Phil Moore. The remote hosts for ''You’re On!'' were Vivianne Collins and Travis White. These two briefed the kids on their tasks, congratulated them when all three tasks were completed, or let them know time was up. Reruns of ''You’re On!'' have aired on Nick GAS.
