Lou Bastien
Louis John Klein (July 10, 1916-October 11, 1979), better known by his ring name Lou Bastien, was an American professional wrestler. He had major successes in NWA-Detroit, American Wrestling Association and Capital Wrestling Corporation where he was 3-Time WWWF United States Tag Team Champions with his kayfabe brother Red Bastien. Professional career Lou Klein was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1916. Growing up, Klein was an amateur wrestler who in the 1930s with hoped to qualify for the Olympics. When World War II broke out, in order to support his wife and child, he turned professional in 1942. In his early days he extensively wrestled in the Midwest region as a junior-heavyweight. There he primarily competed in the Midwest Wrestling Association. He defeated Johney Demchuk to win the MWA World Junior Heavyweight Title in 1948. A wrestling mask is a fabric-based mask that some professional wrestlers wear as part of their in-ring persona or gimmick. Professional wrestlers have been using masks as far back as 1915 and they are still widely used today, especially in Lucha Libre in Mexico. History At the 1865 World's Fair, Theobaud Bauer debuted the mask, wrestling as "The Masked Wrestler" in Paris, France. He continued wrestling using the mask throughout France as part of a circus troupe in the 1860s before moving on to the United States in the early 1870s. Edward Gary George (born August 10, 1946) is a former offensive lineman and star player in the Canadian Football League (CFL). CFL Ed George was drafted in the fourth round of the 1970 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers after playing at Wake Forest University, but opted to go to the Canadian Football League. George played left offensive tackle from 1970 to 1972 and left offensive guard from 1973 to 1974 for the Montreal Alouettes, finishing his career with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 1979 to 1980. George won two Grey Cups with the Alouettes, in 1970 and 1974, led by head coaches Sam Etcheverry and Marv Levy, respectively. He also played but lost in another for the Tiger-Cats in 1980.
