Lotus T128 (Le Mans Prototype)
The Lotus T128 is a Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) sports car built by Advanced Design and Engineering Systems Solutions (ADESS) and Kodewa and designed by former Sauber technical director James Key. It was used by Kodewa which went under the name of Lotus in the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship. Initial plans to construct a Le Mans Prototype car were made in March 2011 by Stéphane Chosse, founder of ADESS. Construction of the vehicle began in February 2013 following the acquisition of two chassis by Kodewa eleven months prior. The aerodynamic study of the T128 was undertaken by using a computer-aided software mesh tool from Altair Engineering and aerodynamics was the main priority in its design and Chosse took an approach similar to that when he was involved in Formula One. Hewland is a British engineering company, founded in 1957 by Mike Hewland, which specialises in racing-car gearboxes. Hewland currently employ 130 people at their Maidenhead facility and have diversified into a variety of markets being particularly successful in electric vehicle transmission supply. BMW M3
The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. ByKolles Racing, formally known as Kodewa GmbH & Co. KG, is an auto racing team based in Greding, Germany. It was founded in 2000 by Romulus Kolles and his son Colin Kolles as Kolles Racing. Advanced Design and Engineering Systems Solutions or ADESS is a racecar constructor based in Munich, Germany. History Sportscar racing Upon completing his engineering study, Stéphane Chosse started at Équipe Ligier in 1996. After Ligier, Chosse worked for Sauber and Toyota F1. After Toyota's departure from Formula 1, Chosse founded his own engineering bureau, which became ADESS AG in 2012. The Lotus T128 LMP2 was designed and manufactured by ADESS AG in conjunction with Kodewa. The car was entered in the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship season. 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship
The 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship season was the second season of the FIA World Endurance Championship auto racing series, co-organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The series was open to Le Mans Prototypes and grand tourer-style racing cars meeting four ACO categories. World Championships were awarded to drivers and to LMP1 category manufacturers, and several World Cups and Endurance Trophies were awarded for the series' other categories.
