Loti Dzonzi is Malawi's former Inspector General of Police in Malawi. He was born in Ntchisi District Malawi. He was the former Police Commissioner prior to this appointment. He has been in the police force since 1987. His appointment was the first replacement under President Joyce Banda administration, therefore succeeding Peter Mukhito Peter Mukhito is the former Inspector General of Police in Malawi. Ntchisi District
Ntchisi is a district in the Central Region of Malawi. The district covers an area of 1,655 km.² and has a population of 317,069. The capital is Ntchisi. Geography Ntchisi District has a population density of about 128 people per square kilometer. The province is all between 1,300 and 1,700 meters above sea level. About half (north and west) is hilly, while the other half (south and east) is generally flat. The average temperature is about 20 degrees Celsius. Economy Farming and agriculture makes up eighty percent of the local economy with a couple of the leading crops being beans and potatoes. Forestry, irrigation and livestock herding are other fields, since the economy has very little private industry and the government employs most of the people. Joyce Banda
Joyce Hilda Banda (née Ntila; born 12 April 1950) is a Malawian politician who was the President of Malawi from 7 April 2012 to 31 May 2014. Banda took office as President following the sudden death of President Bingu wa Mutharika. She is the founder and leader of the People's Party, created in 2011. An educator and grassroots women's rights activist, she was the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2006 to 2009 and the Vice-President of Malawi from May 2009 to April 2012. Peter Mukhito is the former Inspector General of Police in Malawi. He comes from Chiradzulu District. He has gained notoriety for his involvement in interrogating Blessings Chinsinga which began the stand off for academic freedom in Malawi between Chinsinga and President Bingu wa Mutharika. He was also involved in the investigation in the death of Robert Chasowa. Malawi derives its name from the Maravi, a Bantu people who came from the southern Congo about 600 years ago. On reaching the area north of Lake Malawi, the Maravi divided. One branch, the ancestors of the present-day Chewas, moved south to the west bank of the lake. The other, the ancestors of the Nyanjas, moved down the east bank to the southern part of the country.
