Lothar Baier
Lothar Baier (16 May 1942 – 11 July 2004) was a German author, publisher, translator and co-founder of the Literary periodical Text+Kritik. Baier was born in Karlsruhe. He was accepted as one of the most profound German thinkers of the Francophone World and was recognized with the 1982 Jean Améry Prize for Essayists and with the 2003 Gerrit Engelke Prize. Baier published amongst others in the ''Merkur'', in the ''Kursbuch'' and in the Deutschlandfunk and was for many years the editor of the Die Wochenzeitung (WOZ) in Zürich. Author
An author is the writer of a book, article, play, mostly written work. A broader definition of the word "author" states: "''An author is "the person who originated or gave existence to anything" and whose authorship determines responsibility for what was created''." Typically, the first owner of a copyright is the person who created the work, i.e. the author. Susan Boos
Susan Boos (born 1963, Zurich, Switzerland) is a Swiss journalist and publicist. Since 2005, she is the editor-in-chief of WOZ Die Wochenzeitung. Since 2021 she has been the president of the Swiss Press Council. Life Boos grew up in St. Gallen and completed a training as a teacher at the seminar Rorschach in the canton of St. Gallen. From 1984 to 1991, she worked for the Eastern Swiss Workers' Newspaper (AZ) in St. Gallen, in 1989 as an editor. At the same time, she studied ethnology, political science and journalism at the University of Zurich. In 1991, she moved to the Zurich WOZ Die Wochenzeitung, where she was editor-in-chief from 2005 to 2017. Boos is a jury member of the "Zürcher Journalistenpreis" (Zurich Journalists Prize). She publishes intensively on nuclear and energy policy. In 2021 she succeeded Dominique von Burg as the president of the Swiss Press Council. ''Manfred: A dramatic poem'' is a closet drama written in 1816–1817 by Lord Byron. It contains supernatural elements, in keeping with the popularity of the ghost story in England at the time. It is a typical example of a Gothic fiction. Byron commenced this work in late 1816, a few months after the famous ghost-story sessions with Percy Bysshe Shelley and Mary Shelley that provided the initial impetus for '' Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus ''. The supernatural references are made clear throughout the poem. ''Manfred'' was adapted musically by Robert Schumann in 1852, in a composition entitled '' Manfred: Dramatic Poem with Music in Three Parts'', and in 1885 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in his ''Manfred Symphony''.
