Lost My Brain! (Once Again)
''Lost My Brain! (Once Again)'' is the first of two solo albums from Mike "Cyco Miko" Muir – lead singer of Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves. It was released in January 1996 on the Epic Records label. 2001 saw the release of a follow-up album, ''Schizophrenic Born Again Problem Child''. Musically, it is more akin to the hardcore punk of Suicidal Tendencies albums to come – namely ''Freedumb'' in 1999 – rather than of old, and certainly unlike the funk metal of Infectious Grooves, in spite of the fact that many of the musicians performed for both bands. The title track later appeared, with changed lyrics, under the name "Big Fat Baby" on the Suicidal Records compilation, '' Friends & Family, Vol. 1'' in 1997. All the songs from this album (except "Cyco Miko Wants You" and "Ain't Mess'n Around") were re-recorded for Suicidal Tendencies' 2018 album '' Still Cyco Punk After All These Years''. Cyco Miko
Michael Allen Muir (born March 14, 1963) is an American singer who is the lead vocalist and the only sole continuous member of Los Angeles-based bands Suicidal Tendencies, Los Cycos, and Infectious Grooves. He has also released several solo albums under his nickname Cyco Miko. Muir's trademark is wearing bandanas, jerseys with the number 13, and hats with block-style letters that read "suicidal". Early life Born in Venice, Los Angeles, and raised in Santa Monica, Mike Muir is the younger brother of Jim Muir of the Dogtown skateboarding team. Jim exposed Mike to metal music as well as skateboarding. Muir attended Santa Monica College after being kicked out of school in the 10th grade. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Suicidal Tendencies is an American crossover thrash band formed in 1980 in Venice in Los Angeles, California by vocalist Mike Muir. Muir is the only remaining original member of the band. Along with D.R.I., Corrosion of Conformity, and Stormtroopers of Death, the band is often credited as one of "the fathers of crossover thrash". Infectious Grooves
Infectious Grooves is an American funk metal supergroup led by vocalist Mike Muir and initially a side project from his group Suicidal Tendencies. The current lineup also includes guitarists Dean Pleasants and Jim Martin; bassist Robert Trujillo]; drummer Brooks Wackerman. To date, the project released four albums between 1991 and 2000. Though Muir's sense of humor was often obvious with Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves often brought out a goofier type of humor, incorporating comedy skits involving an anthropomorphic reptile named Sarsippius. A mascot costume of Sarsippius was later created and often appeared during the band's live performances. ''Freedumb'' is a studio album by American crossover band Suicidal Tendencies. It was released in 1999 on Suicidal Records. The tracks are rawer than the funk-influenced thrash metal direction they were taking before the hiatus. The album's cover art is a reference to the photo '' Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima'' taken during World War II. Reception ''CMJ New Music Report'' wrote that the songs "display thousand-mile-an-hour, classic hardcore guitar assaults." ''Still Cyco Punk After All These Years'' is the thirteenth studio album by the American crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies, released on September 7, 2018. This features re-recorded songs of Cyco Miko's 1996 debut album, ''Lost My Brain! (Once Again)''; it is a near-complete re-recording, since the only tracks from the original album not included are its last two tracks "Cyco Miko Wants You" and "Ain't Mess'n Around" (the latter, however, can be found on the ''Get Your Fight On!'' EP along with "Nothin' to Lose"), while "Sippin' from the Insanitea" was previously never released. The latter uses the same basic musical structure as "Cyco Miko Wants You", but with brand new lyrics and a different vocal melody. The album's title is a play on Suicidal Tendencies' 1993 album ''Still Cyco After All These Years'', which is also a collection of re-recorded and unreleased material. Stephen Philip Jones (born 3 September 1955) is an English guitarist, best known as a member of the rock band Sex Pistols. Following the split of the Sex Pistols, he formed the Professionals with former bandmate Paul Cook. He has released two solo albums, and worked with Johnny Thunders, Iggy Pop, Cheap Trick, Bob Dylan and Thin Lizzy.
