Wisin & Yandel
Wisin & Yandel is a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo consisting of Wisin and Yandel. They started their career in the late 1990s and have been together since, winning several awards including a Grammy Award in 2009. They became the first and the only reggaeton artists to win one. In late 2013, they announced they would take a pause in their career as a duo, after their Líderes tour. In a 2014 interview with People en Español, Yandel confirmed that the group would not be disbanding. In February 2018, following a five-year hiatus, the duo announced they would be reuniting, and are set to embark on a world tour, as well as release new music. They sold over 15 million records. Reggaeton (, ), also known as reggaetón and reguetón (), is a music style that originated in Panama during the late 1980s. It was later popularized in Puerto Rico. Nelson Díaz Martinez (born on April 7, 1972 in San Juan, Puerto Rico), known professionally as DJ Nelson is a Puerto Rican DJ and record producer who played a significant role in the development and popularization of reggaeton. He first made a name for himself as part of the Noise, a club-centered collective that was spawned in 1994. The Noise—composed of DJs, MCs, producers, and club coordinators—hosted a long-lasting series of club nights in San Juan that were vital to the development and popularization of reggaeton. DJ Nelson earned credit as one of the top Noise DJs, and he also served as a producer and arranger for the collective's music. Baby Rasta & Gringo is a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo formed in 1988 in Las Monjas, Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. Originally known as "the Eazy Boyz", they've released five studio albums since 1994 but have had various collaborations prior to 1998. Most of these collaborations were with DJ Negro, a collection of albums that were divided in volumes titled The Noise. History Baby Rasta is named Wilmer Alicea and Gringo is named Samuel Gerena. They started in 1994 in Hato Rey as 'the Eazy Boyz', but they didn't debut in the market until 1998 after changing their name with ''New Prophecy''. Juan Luis Morera Luna (; born December 19, 1978), best known as his stage name Wisin (), is a Puerto Rican reggaeton rapper, singer and record producer, best known as a member of the reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. Wisin is noted for his unique and aggressive style of rapping. Career Wisin met Yandel in school. They began performing as a duo in the late 1990s and made their album debut in 2000 with ''Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio''. They later made the jump to a major label in 2003 with '' Mi Vida...
