Los Rabanes
Los Rabanes is a Latin Grammy winning ska rock fusion band from Chitré, Herrera, Panama. With a career spanning two decades and eight albums, they are considered pioneers in the region, and are the first band from Central America to win a Latin Grammy in the Best Rock Album Category. Style The lyrical style of Los Rabanes is a mix between Panamanian Spanish and English. Even if some choruses are fully or partly in English, most of the lyrics in the songs are in Spanish, using English only to express sarcasm, satire or parody. History After the breakup of their bands "Rum & Coke" and "El Décimo Piso" in the early 1990s, childhood friends Emilio Regueira, Christian Torres and Javier Saavedra began playing in small pubs and bars during the weekends in Chitré, Herrera, in 1992. Fidel Nadal (; born Fidel Ernesto Nadal on October 4, 1965) is an Afro-Argentinian Reggae musician, songwriter and pioneer of Argentine Reggae and the underground punk/hardcore movement of Argentina. Life and work Nadal was born into an academic family in Buenos Aires, his mother was an anthropologist and visual artist and his father, Enrique Nadal, a film director and a leading fighter for the recognition of the rights of black Argentines. According to his own recollection, he was heavily influenced by the music listened to by his parents, mainly blues and jazz. His ideology involves deep Rastafarian culture from countries like Jamaica and Haiti; one of his inspirations, as with many reggae groups, is Bob Marley. His main influences are related to reggae rhythms and Afro-Argentine culture. Nadal is descendant of Angolan slaves brought to Buenos Aires in the 17th century. Zico Alberto Garibaldi Roberts (born June 3, 1979), better known by his stage name Kafu Banton, is a Panamanian singer and songwriter of Spanish dancehall. Life Kafu was born in 1979 in Cólon, Panama City. Dancehall is a genre of Jamaican popular music that originated in the late 1970s. Ñejo & Dálmata, also known as Ñejo y Dálmata, are a reggaeton duo from Ponce, Puerto Rico. Ñejo was born June 20, 1975 & Dálmata was born February 27, 1979. They had worked together in collaborations with other reggaeton artists before they released their duo album ''Broke & Famous'' in 2007 which peaked at 8 on the 'Billboard Latin Rhythms Albums Chart" and at 9 on the "Top Heatseekers (South Atlantic) Chart", as well as a number of their singles also charting on Billboard. Ñejo has been involved with reggaeton since the production of DJ Joe 5 was released. They started working as a duo on ''Fatal Fantasy 2''. Aldo Ranks
Aldo Vargas, known by his stage name Aldo Ranks, is a Panamanian musician of reggae en Español. From 1992 to 1998, he was the most outstanding and youngest rapper in Panama, supported by producers such as El Chombo and DJ Pablito on albums such as ''Cuentos de la Cripta'' ("Tales from the Crypt") and ''La Mafia''. Ranks later joined the label Panama Music. History In 1998, Vargas began his career internationally, to be present in the recording and production of ''Cuentos de la Cripta''. William Omar Landrón Rivera (born February 10, 1978), better known by his stage name Don Omar, is a Puerto Rican reggaeton singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer and actor.
